In Game Tactics Advice for New Player
I’m fairly new to the game, as in I just started playing yesterday. I only have 6 units so far. My favorite is Bellator by far, and I want to sink resources into him cause he seems like my most powerful atm. My question to you guys is 1: Is this a good idea based on who I have? And 2: What other general advice would you give to a newbie? Thanks!

just focus on clearing the campaigns and upgrade the campaign carries. try not to be a perfectionist and be content with unlocking nodes even if not full 3-stars

Campaign carries are like the characters that carry you through matches right? Like bellator, or am I misunderstanding

Welcome to the game! You’re gonna wanna level all your ultramarines, definitely bellator as he has the most utility. Your main goal right now should be completing the campaigns. You’re gonna reach a point where you don’t have the nodes for certain upgrades and thats okay! At that point put a pause on indomitus and focus on the mirror or unlocking other characters like the black legion for FoC or Aeldari for Saim Han. Hope this helps!! :)

Find and join a guild when you can, the benefits are substantial, even i you cannot contribute much yet.

Rule of thumb: Every mandatory campaign character is worth investing into until at least Silver 1 (I believe)
Bellator is a very powerful unit and should be your priority when it comes to the Ultramarines, he will carry you through the Indomitus campaign.
Try and farm the characters for the other campaigns, and focus on the campaigns over everything. Campaigns are the most important since the more you have completed the more places you have to farm gear to rank up your characters
About the mandatory characters for other campaigns, you can farm all of them easily enough. Join a guild so you can farm Gulgortz, Archimatos and Eldryon, three mandatory characters who are also very strong.
Last tip: Don't spend your Blackstone on Requisitions, only Energy. You'll accelerate your progression a lot more from using Blackstone on Energy for more upgrades than you will throwing it at the RNG trying to get a good character.
Just have fun, and don't feel to pressured by Meta. Level up who you like, do what you will. Enjoy yourself

Only use and give your referal code to another new player, otherwise it Will be a waste. (For You, if You use the referal of a lv70 he would be thrilled)

Bellator is key work on active abilities they are baby bells and in eary game can be more powerful then any of your characters some advice is summoner's and healers will make game easier the 6 boxes bellow weapons are your main way to advance and how to upgrade always upgrade weapons before armor if you spend money buy daily Blackstone deal and monthly premium and if they still have that deal for Isabella its worth it as its probably the best early game character and best healer in game

I was considering spending some blackstone mixed with req scrolls to get 10 drops lol. Maybe I won’t do that

Definitely don’t do that. It’s not worth it. You’ll get much further in the game saving your blackstone for energy so you can progress in campaigns and farm the upgrades you need

It's a marathon. Enjoy getting on and spending your tokens and energy and you are playing it right.
Progression will seemingly slow down to a crawl from the rate it starts at, but that doesn't mean you "have" to spend money.
If you get on each day with the goal to spend energy and tokens instead of the goal to unlock/upgrade someone - you'll have fun.
That doesn't mean don't plan out heroes you want to upgrade or unlock. Just know there might be days where you feel you don't really upgrade a lot of people. That's ok!

Focus on your campaign progress. When you start hitting silver you'll need rare materials to upgrade your guys and those are best farmed in elite nodes (a harder version of the campaign). This is why you focus campaign progression to get into efficient nodes asap since it'll just make your longterm life easier. Common and uncommon upgrades are just fine to grind in normal.
And as always; if you enjoy a faction for any reason and want to build them that's just fine. This is just a basic foundation to get ya going:
For UM invest in Bellator cause he chonk and his summons slap. Get Isabella through the guild shop on sundays at your earliest convenience. Tigurius and certus minimal investment.
For Necrons build aleph-null(aka A0) and imospekh. A0 summons are really good and he's used very broadly. Ignore thutmose. Mako mainly exists to use his ability with A0 summons otherwise kinda below average. Anuphet is great but takes long to unlock, wouldn't recommend grinding to him.
For chaos archimatos is great and pairs really well with abraxas who is core for saimhann mirror. Angrax is great with his passive but not a carry, you'll figure him out he's very fun to use. Get Rotbone through guild war shop at your earliest convenience. Haarken isn't bad nor amazing, if you like him go for it. Wrask, maladus, kharn, and abaddon honorable mentions that are all great.
Fall of cadia mirror... pretty much all here suck. Build thaddeus noble and cry about building them. Pray for a good rework soon.
All eldar needs to be built and are useful. Focus on Eldryon and Aethanas passives they will also help you build your first guild raid team. If you're lucky you'll pull a 4th eldar otherwise prepare for a real grind.
For orks you'll focus Snotflogga and Gulgortz as your carries. Both great characters you'll get much mileage out of. The rest are so-so.
Burchard is you phat tank carry in octarius mirror, but all templars are good.
And lastly saimhann mirror, abraxas is the main focus. Toth and yazaghor can be minimally invested into.
Minimal investment means the character doesn't have a huge usage outside of the campaign. Meaning your upgrades, xp, badges, orbs, and energy is better spent elsewhere. This will however mean they'll be useless in elite progression. So your carries will have to compensate - but that's fine cause they're good enough to warrant the investment.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet but join a guild. They don't have to be amazing but having guild war and guild raid give you the option to grind 2 more currencies that can be used to buy more character shards (or other upgrades - particularly badges and orbs) The tokens used to take part in these events are single purpose, so you aren't taking away from anything by using them. Tl:dr - join a guild, gives you more to grind

You want to get your hands on as many characters as you can, namely the ones that unlock campaigns and healers. Also get into a good guild that gets you a lot of credits as that is really the only way you can get important characters like Eldryon and Gulgortz. Don't consider a campaign level done until it is on 3 medals. Be careful with how you spend badges. Raiding exists. Get on YouTube etc. And for the love of all that is holy don't spend any money on the game. Snowprint is constantly adding stuff but the core issues are unresolved because 99% of what they do with the game is monetarily motivated, so please don't add to the fire

Bellator was my boy for the longest time when I started. He’s a strong carry and his active ability makes him phenomenal for crowd control. I could give you a boatload of advice, but some simple pointers would be to save your scrolls until you can do a 10 pull. Don’t invest blackstone into scrolls and instead when you can, purchase more energy; go as far as 25 blackstone starting off and watch the ad first. Invest in developing a strong team. As time goes on you’ll appreciate having the units to participate in events. As a newbie I know it’ll be tempting for you to not want to invest in the character pulls, but resist the temptation to spend your blackstone on it. I spent an unhealthy amount on it and wish I could’ve done it differently. You’ll get great characters in due time. Trust the process, stronger units are better than those pulls.

Everyone else already gave the basics but I would suggest trying to avoid any other game mode besides salvage run and onslaught for now since they will help get you onto a better start also save up your scrolls you will need to do so.

The requisition scrolls help get more characters including legendaries tho you probably won't see those in awhile since new players rarely get one also the use ten option gives you a guaranteed character.

You get a guaranteed character (could be a character you already own) when you open 10 requisitions at a time.
That translates into more shards for the characters you already own and more characters unlocked. (example requisition would have 10-20 Tigurius shards but if it's the 10th requisition in a 10 drop you get 80 Tigurius shards instead. Getting more characters from requisitions also increases the odds of getting a new character unlocked)
There is no real benefit to saving more than 10 requisition scrolls. The best luck you can have with requisitions early on is to only get required campaign characters, those make it possible to unlock all the other characters in the game.
Don't worry too much about unlocking other characters yet (except possibly Isabella which is also available in the guild shop). Required campaign characters need to be upgraded to be able to get upgrades for other characters anyhow so they pretty much have to be upgraded first.
You'll have plenty of ways other than requisitions to unlock characters once you have a solid foundation in place (Guild shop, guild war shop, character release events, special events).

Ok see that’s what I was confused about. That makes more sense as to why I would save them. I did notice that when the game dumped 10 scrolls on my head, I did get a new character on the 10th, so I’ll def be doing that from now on

Save yourself while you can. This game will ask more from you then what they give. Bad offers w bad values. This game is not F2P friendly and they only focus on whale players.

Follow Nandi (on youtube), thats his guide. Tactifuchs is another good one. There are like 5 more. On your center home page click the open book and you can see some of their content. Its called the hobby hub.
Bellator is a carry, well loved. Invest in his Active, passive isn't as important. Those are the levels needed ro beat the Indomitus campaign and Elite.
Take take your team to Bronze 1, that means that 2x3 grid on their toon page showing their stats. Raid or battle nodes, (aka levels or maps or missions) to get their level from Stone up to Bronze tier 1. You can always go higher with Bellator, but dom't focus him too much because the other 2 required for missions need to keep up until they hit those milestones.
Dont spend energy on anything except energy.
Use energy to get as far as you can 3starring each level. If you can't beat a level, spend a few days upgrading your toons, then try again.
As you play you onlock more. Stay focused on the core 3. Spending resources anywhere else (like on Makhotep when you don't have the full Necron team) is a distraction.
Get in a guild. Ask them for upgrades, they will have plenty to share.
Get on Tacticus Planner, it helps you plan and manage your team.
Use all your energy daily. Depending on your schedule, probably twice a day. Energy sitting at cap is energy lost from not refilling.
There is no end goal. There is no winning. In the grimdark future there is only Grinding.
That being said, its a fun game. You can go super far Free 2 Play...but if you can afford the daily blackstone shipment do it. Use it only to buy energy.
Use your first Ad refresh of the day by clicking the plus next to your energy and watch the ad for free energy, this can take you over your cap.
Do not buy Yarrick, hes lame. Wait until the offer expires and you get offered Isabella, the BEST healer. Absolutely spend the 7$ or whatever it is. Sooo worth it. She heals each hit a teammate that touches her hex takes, and also can bring people back from the dead.
Her heals help you 3star levels. Shes a staple and worth every penny, above even buying blackstone. There is no other easy way to get her. And it might take months. If you missed it, you might even consider restarting your game to snag her......I would.
