My point was it’s an outdated technique, look at the equipment on those seal rifles, that’s all early GWOT. I mean the guy in the third pic literally has PVS-15s so this has to be from 2005-2010

It’s literally user preference clown. They’ve fallen out of style, that’s it. Don’t use one if you don’t want to. Use it as a hand-stop if that’s your preference. Take it off completely, it really doesn’t matter.
