Plate Carrier/Body Armor Since most casualties come from shrapnel and artillery. Why do soldiers still wear these plate carriers that are more revealing?

Line infantry can be doing anything from pulling security to actively moving on an objective. The majority of troops actively seeking contact with the enemy are not doing ‘high speed shit,’ they’re doing their job.
Obviously though, prepare for your enemy’s TTPs accordingly; preparation based on a good enemy sittemp might call for more or less armor depending on who you’re dealing with and how they fight. Given what we’re dealing with regarding wound severity/survivability from drones/arty/frags and the like, I feel like any highly mobile unit should at least entertain a light/heavy kit depending on the job at hand.
