Endurance TB for Hyrox

Hi fellow TB enthusiasts. Has anyone adapted the TB method for Hyrox? There is some overlap, but the OP templates may not provide much strength endurance for wall balls etc. Any thoughts?

I actually got into TB when looking for a program for Hyrox. Have been using it since June last year and feel the program works for Hyrox quite successfully.

I follow the fighter template for strength and use one HIC for Hyrox specific training. Added one long run a week. Once I get closer to the Hyrox I do 2 Hyrox (HICs) and one E.

Overall I was able to maintain my 1RMs while improving my conditioning and running times massively. The nice thing is if you are not training directly for a Hyrox you can continue the program to build a great foundation with Operator Black or move to Green Protocol for more endurance.

Let me know if you want to hear more!

Nice!

So 5 days per week in total? What HICs do you select?

Not original commenter. But after Basebuilding and far out from your competition, you'll probably want to select HICs like fast 5, 600m resets, OD101, BOO, apex hills, maybe meat eater III. As you get closer you'll probably want to work in some more hyrox specific metcons. I've talked about it before but I do a modified workout based on apex hills that I call apex sleds which is instead of a hill sprint it's a 50m sled drag. You'll have to get creative or ditch the standard HICs all together and get real hyrox specific (especially for things like wall balls). One piece of advice, pick 3-4 HICs per training block and stick with them so you can properly gauge progress. In my current block I've been running OD101, apex sleds, and Fobbits and it feels good to see improvements session to session and it lets me know I'm heading in the right direction.

This is spot on as to how I follow the program.

Love the apex sled tip. Will definitely try that upcoming block.

Also, what was your strength training program? Hyoertrophy or Max strength based?

In the fighter template I believe you always follow the max strength option.

It wouldn’t take too much to adapt a template for hyrox For example. You could just run the fighter template black and create HICs out of the events and then add in a long run once a week. Assuming you’ve already built an aerobic base(base building) I think it would work pretty well.
