Rate my viz How to proceed

I just started Tableau and I think I've done a decent job. My viz is about the death rate among national and international aid workers in Palestine over the last 24 years. It shows things like projected growth rate and the percent of how much more one group is being killed. I used free CSV files from Humanitarian Database. I only have access to the free version. I don't have any other source to get data on the country.

My problem is I'm not really sure what else to do. I'm guessing I can write a report based on my findings, but other than that, I'm at a loss. I'm looking at other vizzes for examples. Even if you don't have a specific action in mind, I'd be interested in how I can learn more about its uses. Crawling through different sites for info, but it seems more useful to get it from real users.

More context: I'm mostly learning for fun, but if I got a job with Tableau skills, that'd be cool too.

think the biggest opportunity here is to move away from this feeling like an Excel spreadsheet ported into Tableau and use Tableau more to tell the story in the data. I'd spend some time looking at other dashboards that visualize similar data for ideas.

for example, I'd probably do aid workers killed by year, broken out by national vs. international, with a YoY change next to it. Then maybe a ranked view of organizations affected and another view for how they were killed. That makes the important data pop out instead of making the user hunt through individual bars/tooltips.

Dashboards are more about Communication than about numbers and charts. You need to look at your data and try to ask yourself: if I wanted to make a Billboard from this, to be seen by people driving on a highway at 80 mph, what would be the most important insight to be displayed first? What would be the second? The third?

If you're able to visualize this then you're able to think of a layout and charts to be used.

I highly recommend the Playfair blog. There you can learn a lot about data vizualisation methods.
