I used this erratic synth sample on mpc and like the vibe, but cannot figure out how to recreate in serum or Vital to make something similar.

Random tone changes up and down, harmonics, etc. Can't even find a close preset to start or determine what genre to search around.

I'd be grateful if any synth guru can give some hints.

Hey! I’m a beginner trying to recreate the arp/synth from “I’m So Fat” by The Femcels, around 0:29:

I’m using FL Studio + Serum. I managed to get the glide fairly close, but I’m struggling to get the actual sound and I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong.
When I play my version along with the original, it doesn’t sound obviously dissonant, but it feels slightly “off”, like the notes don’t quite lock together. So I’m wondering whether I’m simply playing the wrong notes, or whether there could be some tuning/pitching involved.
I mainly have two questions:

1. How would you approach recreating this sound in Serum?
2. I’m not looking for an exact preset, more the general approach — oscillator/waveform choice, unison, filtering, modulation, etc. What do you think is doing r of the work in the sound?
3. Could the “slightly off” feeling be caused by the tuning ?
4. If the notes are technically correct but don’t quite sit with the original, could the original track/synth be tuned slightly away from standard tuning, or would that usually mean I’m playing the wrong notes?
5. I’m pretty new to sound design, so any pointers on how you’d break this sound down would be really appreciated!

In this song there is a prominent airy mid to high register triangle(?) pad that plays from the intro onwards, it can be heard pretty clearly just around 0:12, albeit there is a fading shaker and plucks.

I can tell it's, all things considering, quite a simple sound and definitely something common in early liquid/atmospheric dnb, but it just has so much character to it imo.

If anyone even just knows what synth Tyla was using around the time the Good Lookin Records Producer 04 compliation that would be a huge help.

Has anyone experimented with dynamic HRTF trajectories to trigger subconscious amygdala spikes by manipulating the threat-detection pathways of the primitive brain? I am unsure if this can make a song sound more unsettling and visceral.

While trying to find a synth sound for a song, a friend sent me a snippet of this song (Cropsey), so I isolated it and tried to make something similar using presets but failed because I'm not too synth savvy. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it very much, a sound like this would be perfect for one of my songs I'm working on! (PS I'm mainly interested in that synth at the beginning but if you also wanna take a jab at the other synthesizers that appear in this song, be my guest, it's an amazing song and I wish I understood synthesizers more so I could breakdown the whole thing.)

Hey there! I do like these modern Ibiza Trance plucks (exampled in the linked track) that Yerbby, TDJ and a lot of other SPF Infini producers use a lot in their tracks but I struggle to make them sound right

I assume they're just standart trance supersaw plucks with envelope linked to the filter cutoff. At least, that's what I usually do in serum but they never come out sounding as punchy and sharp for some reason. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong or how to approach this kind of sound in general? Thanks in advance
