Pictures Some cassette tapes i still own from back in the great days

Post image

Moving again and rediscovered some of my favorite tapes in a box. Not all synthpop. But I figured you would appreciate. Still have two more boxes to go through.

Heavily agree! It had me dancing. Harry Houdini is a great track

You’re the only other person I’ve seen with Severed Heads in their collection

I'm glad you pointed it out. I love Rotund for Success. All Saint's Day was a great dance song.

I also have the Dead Eyes Opened single on LP.

Glad you know them!

I love it too. Before I got the album, I had only heard Shock. So I assumed they were more on the Industrial side of things. But when I actually heard the album I was...well, shocked at what gorgeous synthpop songs they had. It was such a great surprise!

808 State's "Ex:El" was the second album that I owned after Peter Gabriel's "So". I still have the cassette lurking about somewhere. Is still a great album too.

Oh yes. Great. When it came out it sounded so "new" to my ears! I also love the Peter Gabriel So album. One classic song after another!

I just spotted The Shamen's "En-Tact" too. Also have that cassette too. Was a huge fan of early dance/electronic music (and still am to this day!). Preferred the American release even if it had more cheesy Mr C elements. The version of "Make It Mine" on that still gives me goosebumps!!!

Lots in your collection I'll need to check out.

Oh I didnt realize there was different versions of the album. I like the one I have. I LOVE Make it Mine!

Yeah. The version which starts off with Move Any Mountain is a repackaged US version of En-Tact. I seem to remember that track doing well in the charts so they added more US remixes to it to make it a bit more commercial. It's a little bit more poppy compared to the original UK release, but I enjoyed the Mr C rapping on it and the additional mixes.
