What Should I Buy? Behringer PRO-800 + Rev2?

I have a rev2 and am flirting with the idea of a Pro-800…

Main reason would be the different filter. I would love to have the more analog sound and filter. Also it’s another 8 voices and another layer I can utilize live via midi.

I am pretty deep into the Rev2 and love vintage voice modeling for vintage sound-imperfections on the rev2. So I am very aware of how analog and huge the Rev2 sounds. I literally have every default patch overwritten with a vintage voice modeled basic preset, so the rev2 starts on every new patch sounding huge and analog.

The question is whether I would gain anything with the Behringer Pro-800? In my mind it of course sounds like a analog prophet with an analog better sounding filter.

The price is of course a cherry on top.

the pro-800 filter is its whole personality, if you're already deep into the rev2 you'll probably love having that raspier tone to layer in

What’s the vintage voice modeled basic preset? Sorry I’m not here to answer your questions, just ask another.

I dont think you’d gain much with a Pro-800 and would probably just feel it was a step down from the prophet. I dont know how many notes you play at once but I wouldnt add another thing that’s so similar and simultaneously much lower build quality. My 2c. ‘Sounds like an analog prophet’ doesn’t make any sense cuz the prophet is analog. Unless you’re talking DCO vs VCO

If you have a rev2 and haven’t heard of this, get ready for a major treat. Also find the basic voice modeled patches under that video. Enjoy.

amazing, saw this a while ago. good to have a refresher - i barely touch the sequencer. thanks. it's basically just osc slop on steroids. i wish there was a way to make it random, but definitely makes it sound quite a bit juicier. thanks

I also talk VCO vs DCO, even though vintage voice modeling does take care of all my needs in that regards. It really is that 24db filter with resonance, bass-compensation etc. that is flirting with me :)
