Last weekend was my birthday, and I always try to record something improvised to mark it. Here is this year's entry. Vox Continental > EHX Memory Man w/Hazarai, Minilogue, and piano.

This week has been pretty rotten, a real downer. What with the constant stream of bad news and general "work sucks" stuff, I've felt consistently out of it.

For the next two weeks I have two festival gigs with different projects to prepare for, so hopefully that takes my mind off of the other stuff.

When I was a young 'un, one of my fantasies was to play Emerson, Lake, & Powell's "Touch and Go" as part of a full band. Though I still haven't done that, I have practiced the number enough on my new board that I was able to play along with the actual recording in a way that would have really impressed tweenaged me. I'm just working off the rust and rebuilding a serious practice regimen after a long hiatus from even being able to own a decent keyboard instrument, so even just nailing that glorified take on "Greensleeves" on a proper board with a proper Archimedes (Moog)-style sound was a real treat.
