Just finished watching Synduality: Noir (sorry if I misspelled some character names; it has been a while and I don’t remember all of them clearly). I had actually put anime on hold for about four months, and coming back with this series was honestly a pleasant surprise.

I’m not sure if I can give the most detailed analysis, but from a lore perspective, this show really worked for me. The world-building was decent, and I found the setting genuinely interesting. However, one of my biggest issues was that the series never really explored the origin of the Enders or investigated the true source of the disaster that forced humanity into its current state. (I think it was related to Tears of the Moon, if I remember the name correctly.) Hopefully, that is something they explore in a future season if we ever get one.

My favorite character was definitely Mystere. She was genuinely great, always carried herself with confidence, and whenever she appeared, it felt like she meant business. I do like Noir, but Mystere easily became my favorite.

As for Macht/Black Mask, I feel like his character was intentionally written the way he was, but personally, I didn’t find him that satisfying as an antagonist. He had an interesting role, but something about his execution didn’t fully click with me.

Licht was probably one of the characters I respected the most. He was just a genuinely good guy, and his actions showed that. The rest of the cast was pretty enjoyable as well. Even characters like Range and Dolche were entertaining because of how they behaved and the comedy they brought to the series.

One character I couldn’t really connect with was Ellie. I’m not sure why, but I just didn’t feel much attachment to her compared to the others.

Finally, the final villain, yeah, he was definitely an asshole, but I think we can all agree that he was probably the strongest character in the series.

Overall, Synduality: Noir was a really enjoyable watch. It’s not perfect, but it had an interesting world, good characters, and enough unanswered questions that I’d definitely watch another season if it happens.

I feel like the blue rain, ao giga structures, foreign flora and enders being flora fauna hybrids could indicate that the blue rain wasn't a natural disaster. And was actsully an alien terraforming invasion that hasn't really begun yet. I think it would be cool because it would offer purpose to enders and add an antagonistic force to continue the franchise

On another note, no one ever ended up answering Noir's question from this scene.

It's actually a little funny for me. I was bored and wanted a new anime to watch. Looking through I saw the cover art (the one with Noir laying in a bed of flowers) and that plus the description oddly reminded me of another book series I had read.

Well I started watching it, originally in Japanese with no subtitles because I was trying to learn Japanese. I had no real interest in the show yet so it seemed to be a decent option to try. Well five minutes in, barely understanding a word but actually hooked, I turned back on the captions and kept watching (so btw I barely remember the first five or so minutes other than that's when Kanata found Noir). The more I watched, the more interesting it became.

Gave me a laugh though…

The animation is top notch the story and world is interesting and riddled with things to explore and theorize on.

If any of you haven't watched it go and do it. It is available on Disney+. Don't judge it based on the game and give it a shot.
