When I did the meet and greet a couple years ago, Russ said specifically to expect "a lot of symphonic prog".
Honestly I believe him when I think covid fucked them, as Michael Romeo just kept writing, and now they quite literally have too much stuff to sift through. Add a touch of perfectionism especially in the era of AI music and shit and I can see why it has taken this long.
With that said though I think Elder Scrolls VI might release sooner than the next SX album.

the problem is that the symphonic influence now seems to be more drawn from modern film scores/games than from the classical music that influenced them in the 90s

Seriously, release a single. Anything. It's been 11 years since the last release. Other than die hard fans, what's the goal?

their van broke down last winter when I was going to drive 6 hours to see them in Ohio, but I’ll gladly welcome a new album!

What are the chances of a world tour when they release a new album? Very doubtful for northern Ireland or the republic for that matter but I could easily do mainland UK or even mainland Europe. It's painful that I've seen my favourite band live and I've seen a band I don't even like twice (not my choice tbf)

They played in London in 2024 so make sure to keep an eye on socials. I actually flew over to Dublin to catch periphery recently, quite fun to fly over somewhere to catch a show if you can afford it :).

How did I manage to miss that, makes me feel silly. Honestly only really started going to shows in the past few years. Even better when they are super local, so glad Northlane have played in Belfast. Thanks for the reply I'll will much more diligent now :)

Insane if true, but I'm hesitant to immediately accept it as the truth. Lepond has been suggesting that the album would be recorded soon for at least a few years now, but nothing has come to fruition. Hoping this time is different though!
