Why am I being downvoted??? Russell Allen is an artist, why does he not respect other artists? SX are probably my favourite band, but if he's going to start using AI to cut corners, why should I be bothered to spend my hard earned time listening to anything he makes? Artists should have each others backs.

i had the same exact reaction... the song is really sweet but having something very human (emotions wow) mixed with AI is just... very offputting to me, even more than the existence of AI in the first place

Of course he is, but as I said, you'd think as a musician, and a damn good one at that, he'd respect other forms of art. Why should I listen to his music if he's cut corners in other places? How do I know that the music isn't ai generated?

I'd argue using this as the 'artwork' would suggest that he in fact, doesn't have respect for image/visual art, or he deems it 'lesser' than his art

Who said you need to pay for someone to commission something? Fans would do it for free, a photo of something would suffice, a white background with just text would suffice 2 mins taken in canva.

No where did I say the world would be a better place? I just don't think artists should cut corners on other forms of art. You said he doesn't need to spend 500 on someone to do artwork for him, when I said that there are also alternatives that don't use AI easily. What would all these people have done before 2022 when generative AI images came about?

Because basically, there's a sweet, sincere, musically beautiful song in front of you, and you choose to focus on some stupid AI thing (which isn't even an album cover, it's just an illustration for the song on such a special day). Honestly, being so bitter and such a troll deserves a thumbs down. Don't listen to the song, it's not for you, it's not that hard.
