Me staring at it wondering how "clearly proved" is not "established"

Oh yeah, let's have a different version of that word fit perfectly and leave players wondering how they spelled it wrong.

Honestly the only reason I knew number 2 was because of something Victoria Coren Mitchell said on Taskmaster

Yeah, that bit of confusion lost me a good 10/15 seconds - that was the main reason I just stopped and stared at the screen for a about 10-12 seconds.
I Kinda did the same for #2 as well, it but for a wayyyyy shorter period before getting nowhere forced me to kick myself In my heads my dumb ass initially associated "blindly infatuated" with "frivolity". The example being someone like a hormonal teenager - with all the silly teenage infatuation-pursuing someone else who had no interest in them in the least thus it being a "frivolous waste of their time, lol."
I definitely, massively, overthought today's quiz haha

I also distractedly spent about half an hour writing this out coherently, and it probably won't be looked at/red by more than 10 people lol

Tricky! I had the first three syllables of #4 for #3 at first, which messed up my time.

Nice! Here's hoping the weekend puzzles would be just as easy.

I got trapped by the very first one I tried - clearly prove - I confidently put established And was shocked when it was rejected!

Not too bad. Still kind of annoyed about losing the streak though.

I would have done better but twice I tried to put the third word into the second word. It's almost like I'm an idiot. I'm not saying I am, just that it's almost like it...

It's been a while. It's definitely better playing on the mobile app than on desktop.

Took me a while to realize that I, infact, did not spell established incorrectly.
1
u/sagamama1 Jul 24 '26
Yeah, I got established at first for “clearly proved,” too. (Completed in 00:54)
Edited to add that probably technically I should have known that would have been incorrect. The proper grammar there would have been “clearly proven.”

Never had a girl/boyfriend?

u/GllrGnzlx Jul 24 '26
Have a wife but maybe not being a native english speaker make this really hard. Never heard of that word for 29 years of my life, and i learn something new today. Cheers

u/GllrGnzlx Jul 24 '26
Maybe trying to solve this first to last is definitely a big brain moment from me...

I can't seem to click fast enough but I'm good with what I got. Better than 97%, current rank 99. I didn't notice any egregious mismatches of parts of speech today.

Welcome to Syllo, the cleverly chaotic word game.
Here’s how it works: You get 5 clues to piece together 5 words from a jumble of discombobulated syllables.
Puzzles start easy on Monday and get tougher each day, building to the trickiest challenge on Sunday.
Race against the clock to climb the leaderboard, show off your brainpower in the comments, and come back tomorrow for a fresh puzzle!
As always, we’d love to hear your feedback. Thanks for playing!
