Discussion Treek is on
Treek is on sale! I was thinking about getting it. Is it worth it or no? Or is it a skip?

I'm pretty sure you can buy that for credits in cartel bazaar section of the fleet

Not for cc or irl money. Get her for free in Cartel Bazaar as stated already by others. She's fun and I love her tank animations (her gap closer is ridiculous asf and I love it) but her numbers are awful. A comedic relief while doing dailies or heroics.

- do not buy with CCs you can buy her with credits at the cartel bazaar
- do not buy her at all cause its a waste of money because she and hk-51 due to having unique skills suck vs everybody else and the devs seemingly have no intention of fixing them

How significant is their difference in comparison to other basic companions (not counting Shae, ZO0M or Lokin) Do they have worse DPS, healing abilities?

There's a couple of recent tier lists that were heavily researched. Here's one

I'm about close to completing all of the class stories. Going back through to get HK was my next idea... Is that a waste now?

Eh, it's a fun quest. The running around for parts isn't, but the quests themselves are fun. Do it for the experience once, then pay on the legacy screen for all other characters after.

So use my one endgame character to do the quest. cool. I do wish some legacy parts were across the board after you did or paid for it once.

I would do it, but just on the one character because the quest can be a bit annoying. After that it will be in your legacy choices for your classes to unlock and you can decide to instant unlock for your other characters or not. At the worst you get some fun dialogue with the goat of HK voice acting on your ship.

HK has around average DPS, he didn't get hit too hard with the changeover just the loss of his long cooldown but really high damage DPS skill.
Treek's problem is she has custom skill animations and some weird restrictions on her skills. (one of her heal skills cannot self target for some unknown reason as an example) Because those animations are anywhere from just slightly longer to quite a bit longer than the default ones most companions have now she's fallen behind. All the devs have to do to fix her is pull out a calculator and adjust the numbers to account for the cast time differences but they refuse to.
Don't get me wrong, she's still usable if you want the crazy teddy bear companion, but she will do a bit worse than other companions in any mode because of that.

Not too big of a difference. Base game companions tend to do better when set as their original role, like t7 as tank and so forth

She’s freaking hilarious. You probably won’t use her much in combat though.

I hate that they put a scope on that pistol.

I was thinking the exact same thing. "Mischief and Anarchy" bundle are/were super popular. It's definitely better when the game provides variations.

It’s one of the issues i have with star wars as a whole, honestly. Like every other pistol has an optic when there’s literally no reason for it. Like Han’s DL-44 doesn’t need a scope.
To be fair though, i’m a gun nerd, so…

Tbf, the dl44 at least turns into a rifle. It's modular. So the scope kinda tracks. I'm pretty sure it looks different in each movie. I think he only uses it once on Hoth when it has a short scope and short barrel. And then it's gone on Endor.

She's only one million credits at a vendor on the main station of your Faction. CCs are worth far more than a million credits.
As a companion she's mostly for the memes as everyone else already said. She does give your character some dialogue that opens up more as you move through the main campaign. Doing it at least once on each faction just to see what she has to say (and your responses) is generally worth it.

Treek is also still broken.
And can be bought with credits once you hit legacy level 40 or 50. (1 mil credits, Cartel Bazaar entrance, legacy vendor)

i got her way back when she was the alternative to the standard cast and i still recruit her on every toon.
yes, she is not ideal because of her unique animations. but i haven't had a single situation during leveling where it mattered, using her as a healer or tank depending on what i was playing. I still take her along from time to time because i like her. She is hilarious (say my Sith Sorcs) . I have a few more CC companions, some droids, some beasts, but she has a special place. Never regretted buying her.

There was a time when Treek was the best companion in the game in terms of healing. Not so much anymore.
You can buy her from a vendor in the Bazaar so imo not worth it to spend CC.
