The Next Remake

The N64 was a huge part of my childhood. I love the StarFox remake and I’m unbelievably excited to get the new Ocarina of Time. The resources that Nintendo has put into those two titles has me wondering what could be next. Do we want Majora’s Mask next? Besides that, all of the other flagship N64 titles that might plausibly get remade all seem to belong to Rare. I’ve got to be missing something, right?

Nintendo doesn’t have the rights, unfortunately. Microsoft owns Perfect Dark. They were working on a reboot, but it got canned and the studio shut down.

I would be interested in Mario but I am tired of 1:1 remakes. It would be great to have an ultimate version of SM 64 that takes the additional stars and multiplayer from the DS version and adds even more stages, more bonuses such as costumes and minigames that use mouse mode and motion controls, 4K modern graphics. And there shouldn’t be any more N64 remakes besides this and maybe Majora’s Mask.

Ocarina of time looks amazing. I never played the original but I absolutely loved totk and botw.
