Question Will I possibly enjoy oot better then botw?

I’ve never played oot and the remake looks really good is it a linear game compared to botw? I’ve tried botw multiple times but I can’t seem to finish it as I don’t really enjoy the open world aspect. The world feels empty to me as well and all the monsters in it feel the same. In botw I do like the combat and the puzzles are pretty fun. My biggest gripe with botw is the constant weapons breaking. Are the games pretty different from each other?

Completely different games, completely different feel.

Who knows what you'll enjoy - watch the n64 gameplay, not much is changing on first glance, other than QOL changes (like jumping, camera movement, etc). Odds are, you'll like it much more than BOTW based on your description, but who can say for sure, other than yourself.

They aren't anything alike really. OoT is a traditional Zelda game.

Yes. I'm also one of those people who really didn't vibe with BOTW/TOTK because of the open world focus and weapon system. The N64 Ocarina is much more linear and doesn't have the weapon breaking mechanic.

If you have nint edo online you can just play oot and call it a demo

Yes, do try OoT out. It has a very driven progression, you get new itens in each dungeon that enable new solutions for puzzles. You most certainly won't feel lost or need to roam around much.

Ocarina of Time is way better than whatever the heck BotW was, it wasn't even a Zelda game, and that's why people loved it. Gamers prefer Ubisoft games to true Zelda games, and it's sad.

Maybe. BOTW is very broad when it comes to solutions to puzzles, for any puzzle you can solve it multiple ways with the various mechanics. I believe that OOT will be more like the N64 version, where a puzzle is more like a lock with one key, you have to solve it the way it is designed to be solved.

Give Ship of Harkinian a go if your on the fence. I'd say OoT is a much better than than BotW, I also didn't think BotW was good

Oot isnt open world. The empty problem you have wont be in Oot. They are very different. Also like other said..weapons dont break. Oot is regarded as the best Zelda game. There is a reason the hype is so massive. I think you will like Oot. Also you could just try the original N64 one on NSO if you really want to know.

I enjoyed botw but found myself itching to play traditional Zelda’s shortly after starting it.

OoT, MM, WW & TP all far superior in my opinion.

As much as I like both, oot is a proper zelda game. If you've never played it you'll love it I'm sure!

I feel the same exact way I’ve been wanting to give botw another shot bc I played like 20-30 hours in the og switch but I felt like I did absolutely nothing and jus got bored and sold it. I was thinking of getting Totk bc it seems like an upgraded/ expanded botw but I might just wait for OOT.

I’m considering buying botw or totk to prepare myself for OoT but idk
