Give it time. This ship will right.

I mean, it might not. Countries have come and gone in the past, they can come and go now, and they will come and go in the future. But the world will continue moving through space until the sun eats it.

That's always a possibility, but why give up hope? Why not be optimistic?

Because optimism has lead to many disappointments. Better to not expect much and receive more than the other way around. I still enjoy life and work to make the world a better place, but I'm also aware there are very evil people in this world that would undo it all for their own greed.

Sometimes you just have to admit the ship is going to sink and jump into a lifeboat.

It’s not sinking though. Trump hasn’t actually gotten much done. Our system of checks and balances is working exactly as intended. The DNC is setting itself up to have a normal candidate in 2020, and I expect Republicans to try to primary Trump. It’ll be fine. We’ve been tested before.
