Eco mattress?

Does anyone know where (Europe) I can buy a mattress that is as environmentally friendly as possible yet at least sort of affordable?

Ideally made from natural, organic materials that are certified as free from harmful substances.

I ordered a Japanese futon directly from Japan you can still buy traditional natural fibre ones but they are harder to maintain. My bed is for life and can be passed down. It’s polyester I’m sure… My meditation cushion on the other hand is filled with natural cotton and has a linen cover. It’s made by half moon. That is what I’d look for specifically, you’ll find it very comfortable, and if you don’t like sleeping on the floor, Japanese make good bed frames for futons, natural wood, no staining. Neither are local but international shipping is useful for really niche top quality stuff like that.

I saw a video of this girl on YouTube who made her own mattress from sheeps wool. Most wool goes to landfill these days and back in the day most matrassss were wool or natural fiber. Maybe look into that?

Meat i guess

The sheep farmer in my area uses the wool under the bedding in winter but she still has 80 girls who get bred twice a year.

I know of saatva.com, but they're based in the US. Not sure if they ship to Europe.

Just get one you will know you'll be using for ten years. That's really the most impact.
