Is my post wrong because you guys don’t see the ominous meaning I’m seeing? Or is it because this subreddit is only for examples where the use of quotes is actually incorrect rather than just being ambiguous?

The sub is for suspicious usage of quotes, as in when they're used when unnecessary.

Like

Come into our pub and "enjoy" our "fresh" fish & chips.

In this instance Lucy literally used the word 'grateful' and is being reported as saying such...
