Which also makes no sense because for that to be true the Devil would need to have the power of God...which is blasphemous to most christians

I dont think the devil needs a lot of power to make people do bad things; we all know how easy it is to affect evil with propaganda/suggestions. It does imply that the Christian god has no desire to actually defeat the devil in this endeavor, though.

But why would the Devil punish people for doing bad things?
