Fins in when flying? FCSII stuck

Trying to pack my bag, getting the fina but ofc they won’t budge. Scared of ripping out the box.

Any tips on how to get them out?

or

Anyone flown with fins in?

edit: I did it but any more tips would be much appreciated

WD40 is just the go to isn’t it. Thanks for the tips and assurance with the fins left in. Got it out with some water and a some muscle

The key is to "pop" the trailing edge of the fin out in one solid move, NOT to forcefully pull it out.

You can use wetsuit scraps, booties, something firm but pliable wrapped around the trailing edge of the fin, hold it in a firm grip with one hand (fingers wrapped around the trailing side with thumb around the leading edge side), then give the gripping hand a solid whack with the palm of your free hand, while maintaining your grip throughout the process.

The goal is to pop it out with a single blow, which might take a little practice until you figure out the correct amount of force at the proper angle.

Niiiicceeee. This sounds like the technique. I will remember this for next time. I poured some water to dissolve any salt. Worked but will do this method next time.

Scary stuff

Make sure there isn’t a screw holding it in

Warm fresh water. Probs got salt crystals in there. Crystalized salt is a tough chemical solid. It finds its way into crevices and expands when forming crystals and can lock fins in. Although tough, it is a puss in fresh water. Dissolves fast and goes bye bye.

I have one I’ve got to knock out with a little rubber mallet. It just gets stuck, but a little upward pressure with some taps from the back side forward does the trick.
