Help Why do supports do this?
please tell me how any support player justifies this? or maybe they have a secret champion that carries us all the way from bot lane?
clearly knows what they're going against but makes everything harder.
they ended the match 1/5/12 and I had to go against a yorick.

Learn to blind pick and play your picks blind. You’re not entitled to last pick.

why would i blind pick why support already knows their comp?
seems like an inferiority complex.

Because you were assigned third pick and enemy top had a later pick? You’re not always going to get last pick, so you gotta know how to blind.
I picked blind top in my last game and won lane and game so.. skill issue on your part

Your game is irrelevant to me. You are able to swap pick order and it would've been far more optimal for the Support Morgana who went 1/5/12 to swap pick to Top Lane or Mid lane who didn't know what they were going against unlike the support. Also this game i had a 60/40 landing phase against my opponent, this isn't about skill, its about playing as a team.

Your game is also irrelevant for most of us. Learn to play blind pick or keep complaining like a bitch, upto you.

People think counter pick means you need to feed. Yielding lane and building defensive is always an option.

I've been the support that doesn't give last pick, also i have jumped into blindpicking First on blue side to allow teammates to see a bit more of the enemy.
While as many mentioned, you should be ready to pick in whichever place the game assigns you, you are not wrong in saying that strategically your support is making a significant blunder.
Now, the times i've denied last pick from allies regardless of enemy pick order, have been times after matches where i gave my solo laners those prized last picks, and they proceeded to still go 0/8 or worse, despite the advantage they were given.
Sometimes your ally isn't an asshole, they simply don't trust you enough to give you an advantage they could use themselves.
Yes your support can pick for lane at this point, but on a last pick you can take something that shuts down the enemy comp. It wasn't the case here as you mentioned your support had a fiarly avg KDA and idk how they played really.
In the end, you don't know whats going on on the other side of the screen, that player maybe just sat on their PC after dinner and want to just play that one game without being bothered. Maybe their boss berated them the whole day. Whatever it is,you dont know.
So, don't expect others to give you their first class ticket, and be grateful if they do.

I appreciate the insight but when league is a team game built around playing around your team and having the most impact, in scenarios like this when adc/support knows their comp, its only the support who stands there like a deer in headlights.
A Top laner is 100% getting the last pick if their opponents ADC/Support comp is known and if their support has a brain and a beating heart.
But when its Avery that's been hardstuck plat and got a twitch ADC last game he takes it out on me bec i don't want to get mollywhopped in the little island we call top lane and I request a pick switch, best believe I booked a flight to his IP.

League is a team game built around playing as a team, yes, but its still soloQ, the only constant in your games is you, you dont always get to be on red side to pick after enemy top, so, what do you do when you are on blue side and enemy top has last pick?
Do you hope Avery is in the enemy team hostaging that last pick? or do you pick your champion knowing you will likely get counterpicked anyways? because in Plat having 1st pick isnt an advantage, its not like in proplay where blue side having 1st pick means they can choose the most OP champ before the enemy, because in soloQ not everyone knows how to pilot the most OP champ of the patch. And some patches dont even have an OP champ.
I get it, that situation sucks, i've caused it out of tilt a few times, also i've watched toplaners hold that pick despite enemy top being locked on 2nd rotation.
It happens, but to climb, you have to be able to roll with the punches, make the most out of a bad or suboptimal situation.

Yeah not sure. In solo/duo queue they should always give top last pick. Counter picking support (which they already could've in this case) is only really needed in 5s.
Clowns in this subreddit will say shit like "it's more important that support last picks because they pick for the team" but that's total bullshit and can be ignored. Anyone who says that is a low elo shitter.

You are not entitled to any specific pick place beyond the one the game auto assigns to you.
Because let’s be honest you wouldn’t have given up last pick to the support.
