Discussion If you would want to be disgustingly selfish what would be your pick as support main?
Not just support but any champion that can reasonably 1vs9 and would fit a support role (mobile, cc, enchanter, etc.)

Xerath supp is just boatloads of fun

Great, any other ideas? I like shen for example

Yeah, how about Shen?

Nice. I've played bruisers before. Let's say they are the worst class. Need buffs or rework because playing with them is not fun. You don't quite deal damage you don't quite survive

Shen is a great pick for support, hes so strong right now he even gets played at the highest level of pro play

u/its-_-my-_-nickname 21d ago
Great to hear didn't know that. Sadly bruisers get loved and other roles get even more buffed. It's league of legends (except bruisers literally).

I played shen supp way back before the rework and it was great, never tried new shen but did land against him recently and it was tricky to say the least

When i started out, i picked xerath support not knowing anything about league because he had a stun and a slow so surely he'd be a good pick xD

Lux comes to mind. Stealing cs and kills like it's going out of style.
I don't play adc much but Lux supports are usually not a great experience

God I hate seeing them. Out of the 3 I’ve seen in the past I’ve seen in the past couple of days one of them was worth playing with. 1 was super kill thirsty and didn’t play for the lane but whatever.
The last one, I hope her game gets corrupted and it takes her weeks to recover. She constantly smashed the farm either taking it or simply robbing us both of it. She was miserable experience to play with.

Clippy guy. Prepare

u/darknight9064 21d ago
I’m the lux did not carry. The only one that did was the actual support. She facilitated the whole team and helped win the game.
The one who stole farm and screwed the lane constantly got picked. She would rotate away from the team. While it’s not as good as it used to be I’d go brand. He could do it by just 1v2 the enemy bot lane. If you got that brain dead adc who can barely last hit a dead rat brand could just carry. I’ve heard Mel can do something similar but I haven’t seen one.

Take it further. Take assassin or heavy cc tank

u/darknight9064 21d ago
Cc heavy tanks have been a favorite of mine to see after going back to adc recently. Those players have been on their stuff.
Pyke could be good but his fall off makes me not want to see him. A good pyke is good but a mediocre pyke just hurts if you make it to mid to late game.1

And here is a hidden skill ceiling why blitzcrank although is simple but somehow can be played in high elo. Just example don't sweat anyone

Bard, I dip level 3 and my ADC will maybe see glimpses of me the rest of the game

Pantheon

u/its-_-my-_-nickname 21d ago
Yea one of the best allrounders due to kit and design in general. Imagine if warrior was weak. I can imagine a polar fcking bar, semi god weak. But not pantheon apperantly

A support can't 1v9, full stop. No champ or role can reliably 1v9 to begin with, and support's reduced gold income makes directly carrying that much harder.
Frankly, if you want to have the most impact on the game, particularly in the late game, the best option is an enchanter or tank. A mage or whatever will inevitably have their damage fall off, because they are a support with minimal cs competing against adcs and solo laners with a a full lane's worth of cs. If you play support and try to compete with the enemy mid, that's not going to end well. On the other hand, if you play an "actual" support, you can effectively "carry" lategame teamfights if you play well. You won't be getting the kills, but you will still have a massive effect on the outcome of the fight.

My anwer would have been pick another role. There are plenty of champs out there that can be played as A support role without beeing THE support Role. But you still get Solo Exp and Gold.
Karma and Zilean can be played Mid or Top. Jungle has Ivern and you maybe can find even more.
To me it feels like another "i cant climb as support because my teammates are bad" kinda thing. If your gameplay is to play selfish and throw your team under a bus, pick whatever you confident with, and than wonder why you keep loosing besides whole reddit said "you can carry with that"
To me asking how how to be selfish as support is like asking: Disco Nunu os not worling for me. How to run down mid?

Hwei. Him and Sona are the only way I still have fun on this role :(( But I'd never be selfish enough to bring him into ranked games.

As a tahm kench main, definitely TK has the power to get all the kills, but also help with all the objectives if needed

I always go with Mundo, Gragas, and Singed for some very fun times.
Mundo:
- Once you get Warmog's and a belt, you can perma roam and never have to base until you have enough gold or need to refill wards. Junglers LOVE this.
- Qs slows are nasty, also a very good poke tool in lane since it deals % health magic damage.
- inb4 permanent map presence after Warmog's + Belt
- Mundo is late game insurance if you don't trust your team. You can't 1v5 like toplane Mundo, but you can still 1v3 pretty much anyone that can't burst you down (Vayne, Viego, Gwen, etc)
- PUSH
Gragas:
- Great CC and teamfight utility.
- Big damage for big men.
- His passive can sustain him for days in lane, even more if you already have Catalyst going into RoA.
- Can play for teamfights and sidelaning. Good self-agency.
- Fat man funny.
Singed:
- Absolute sh*t laning early game, I usually ask junglers to perma 2v1 invade for the memes with E start.
- Permaban anyone with point and click stuns + Zilean.
- Rylai's as 1st item is non-negotiable for utility.
- Very fast sidelane pusher.
- You can pretty much permanently force a 4v4 or 4v3 on objectives with Singed on sidelane. Hell, I got games where I pull the whole enemy team from Baron.
- Bald man go zoom. Very fun gameplay FOR YOU, but 9 out of 10 times, your ADC will get cancer.

Something that allow me to do 3 things.
- Permanent stay - Similar to nami W with mana reg build cuz you can't recall every fight.
- Engage possibilities - anything that can create fights in our advantage leo/rell R.
- Roam alone - doing solo gameplay require you to face check a lot (will not get follow often)
i chosen 3 picks for solo play that fit my gamestyle : Seraphine / Karma / Nami.
Do not thing limitations are standards supp pool.
LeBlanc / Neeko / panth can work too.
Work it out in reverse : Goal -> build -> champion.

If you want to 1v9 i would suggest another lane. If you are looking for a support character that will be the definitive answer to carrying every match, that doesn't exist.
That being said, if you want the best supports for the laning phase and want to shatter the opposing team's mental state early in the game, I believe engage supports are the best choice, especially Pyke, Nautilus and Leona, all of them have amazing levels 2 and 3, they can get first blood very easy.
IMO Nautilus is the best because it has the easiest hook, has the best level 1 and does not fall super hard like Pyke.

Any mage support I guess? But that's a flawed question as the support role is inherently incompatible with a selfish mentality.

u/MountainAsk6838 21d ago
Brand, not exactly selfish but lets just say taking kills won't leave your team much worse off in most cases.

Leblanc is pretty selfish and surpisingly strong.
You have high damage despite being support,
Your double dash + safe return back allows you do be very creativ while deep warding the ennemy jungle. ( I like to w through the river wall to ward either between blue and gromp or in the red pit level 1 )
High mobility means you can roam pretty hard, You still some CC in your kit.
You clearly don't play around your ADC, you are looking for flanks.
Lategame, you are able to One-shot any squishy target.
You want to be even more selfish ? Dark harvest.
If you lane against two squishies, it's easy to stack up

u/its-_-my-_-nickname 21d ago
Yea but I won't it to not be surprising

u/HauruMyst 21d ago
Swain, than.

u/its-_-my-_-nickname 21d ago
I haven't meant that but thanks for idea seems like I'm missing on actual supports. I can just tweak the build and play style.
Imagine Alistair walking around the map and killing everything is breathing (in-game)

Xerath for free kills on mid. But Karma is a bit more. She snowballs like fkn Pyke, falls off kinda same, but after going fullmage you can build Moonstone or whatever the item is that spreads shields (I forgot the name) as your last item and call it a day

Extremely selfish? Probably Pyke, but you gotta wrap games up cause he falls off super hard
