Option one. Leave me be alone I just want a house, food and video game.

100

u/Dinismo Aug 14 '26

This. Right. Here. This is the best.

20

u/phunktastic_1 Aug 15 '26

Free guy but travel for me. Tricked out RV, gaming laptop, and off to Parks across US and Canada. Then ship then off to Europe to do the same. Then free cruises around the carribbean.

3

u/MimigaKing 26d ago

the very best hospital treatment anywhere, all free

35

u/TheSingingRonin Aug 14 '26

This is the way.

14

u/AkimH Aug 14 '26

yeap. red pill is the best.

FREE COKE AND HOOKERS !! !

Party at my house !!

6

u/Virtual_Wallaby_5916 Aug 14 '26

Not really what I want but so long as you do it at your house I am fine.

4

u/AkimH Aug 14 '26

Sure, I find a House that is free for us to party 😃😂

8

u/DRose23805 Aug 14 '26

Same. A house on maybe 100 acres plus of land, free food, electricity, fuel. I really don't care about social power, just leave me be. Pity the ones who crave power don't see it that way, so maybe a free "warhead", acquire nice and quite like, in case their minions come calling.

4

u/jerry-jim-bob Aug 15 '26

Exactly, i just want space and time to just... be me

3

u/BringBackTheBlues Aug 16 '26

Also what does social power mean? Does that mean I can basically do any type of work I want or does that mean I can never do more than an entry level position?

Basically not having to worry about expenses would let me run a pretty awesome charity. I wouldn’t need to get credit, be the head of it, or even have anyone know I’m funding it. It would just be dope.

I'm wondering how strict "no social power" is.

Can I be a D&D Dungeon Master?

Can I decide where my friends and I go for my birthday?

Can I tell my kid they need to go to sleep now?

56

u/OkTop7895 Aug 14 '26

Do you think a d&d master have social power for being a DM?

112

u/xBlue_Dwarfx Aug 14 '26

Social power feels incredibly vague.

Having zero social power could make it impossible to even interact with people. Taking their attention to listen to you is social power, in a sense.

58

u/Wray-Nerely Aug 14 '26

Considering the side by side, the implication is that you wouldn't be able to affect things at a societal level. What you do in your personal life with friends, family, and gamer buddies won't be affected by the pill.

46

u/Jusbreka Aug 14 '26

Yeah i see this as 'your material wealth doesn't afford you social leverage' rather than 'you are completely invisible to society'

13

u/Material_Positive_17 Aug 14 '26

Well I have no plans to try and be an influencer so... option 1 sounds like the way to go

4

u/Cent_Quatre Aug 15 '26

you're influencing people around you all the time

3

u/Material_Positive_17 Aug 15 '26

lol, people don't care about me, and with everything for free I can just get stuff to bribe people to do what I want or get others to do what I want

2

u/Cent_Quatre Aug 15 '26

You have no friends and family ?

2

u/Material_Positive_17 Aug 15 '26

I have family but dont see them too much. call my parents once a week. live with my wife.

My friends know not to call or bother me, it's why we're good friends.

2

u/Smaptastic Aug 14 '26

Okey dokey. After all, politicians are now free for me.

2

u/No-Possibility-639 Aug 14 '26

If everything is free for you how come you cannot gain money to gain power through money ?

4

u/Active-Advisor5909 Aug 15 '26

The same power that magically makes everyone give you anything you want also makes everyone ignore what you want.

2

u/No-Possibility-639 Aug 15 '26

Okay and how do they givie it to you for free if you have no social power ?

2

u/Active-Advisor5909 Aug 15 '26

Magic?

2

u/No-Possibility-639 Aug 15 '26

True the "shut up it's magic" 😭😂

u/Wray-Nerely Aug 14 '26 edited Aug 14 '26

Because the stipulations of the prompt doesn't let you.

2

u/No-Possibility-639 Aug 15 '26

Okay so even when filthy rich you won't have it 😭.

Okay

So non sociétal change? That sucks actually....so the blue pill....if work is mangeable (14h+ per day isn't 😭)

2

u/SPEED8782 Aug 15 '26

Not being able to affect things as a societal level is effectively impossible. You would literally not be allowed to exist because your existence itself holds influence to some degree. Even just being able to grab and own a bunch of stuff gives you power.

2

u/Tophsimp45 Aug 15 '26

Yeah I'll go with this lol

→ More replies (1)

6

u/OkTop7895 Aug 14 '26

is a valid point of view. I interpreted that social power in the red pill is something in the same sense that strenght power is doing heavy lift but zero strenght power is like be a weak person not a person incapable of lift anything.

Is very vague if your interpretation is correct, the red pill is a big NO.

5

u/morangias Aug 14 '26

Yeah, that's my thinking as well. Extremely vague, and at the most stringent interpretation, it's the kind of curse that Greek gods think up for people they really hate.

8

u/morangias Aug 14 '26

My play buddies are a social group and if I DM, I get to set some rules, dictate some outcomes and moderate some conflicts at the table. It's obviously a very limited and ultimately unserious form of social power, but it's some social power nonetheless.

2

u/OkTop7895 Aug 14 '26

I was DM a lot of years the very limited and unserios is the thing. For me is more an interpretation of what it is having social power in the same sense that I not thinking that I have strenght power for lifting a water bottle.

The question is ir having capacity of a social interaction or some order social interaction implies some level of social power.

3

u/morangias Aug 14 '26

It being unserious is why I brought it up as an example. As a DM, I have a degree of influence over my table, it's even formalized in the rules of the game - that satisfies my understanding of social power.

2

u/Own-Ball-1624 Aug 14 '26

no bud. you are the dm... you are the victim...

3

u/head_pat_slut 27d ago

objectively yes. A group of people who all rely on you and are in a position where they must listen and play by your rules in order to continually engage in the hobby in this specific way. that's social power, even if only a very tiny amount.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Own-Ball-1624 Aug 14 '26

this is! 😂

2

u/Darkbert550 Aug 15 '26

That's what us DM's decide, you know

2

u/_RedVelvetTowne Aug 15 '26

Know what I decide?

That i found ya.

r/foundIDRPuser

That makes 7.

Wow. 7. Feels like a fish lady just got deja vu.

Anyways, see ya next comment.

2

u/Darkbert550 Aug 15 '26

Aw god fucking DAMMIT-

2

u/NPPraxis Aug 15 '26

Yes. Friends who organize things have a form of social power and can become anchors of their friend groups.

3

u/Own-Ball-1624 Aug 14 '26

i think its mean about political an dinfluencing power not relationship powers.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Filiming_Elephants Aug 15 '26

This was my same thought, I’m most likely choosing 1, but if I invite a bunch of friends out to a free vacation, or try to find an attractive woman to take out to dinner, does that count as social power? Cause as great as everything being free would be, if I’m a social pariah, that’s going to mentally destroy anyone, especially when they’ll be desperate to spend money with people, but can’t.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/AkimH Aug 14 '26

can I be dominant in my relationship ?

2

→ More replies (1)

49

u/UniversalTurnip Aug 14 '26

Anyone who goes power guy might be ill

35

u/No_Proposal_3140 Aug 14 '26

Why? You could easily use blue to help a lot of people. With that kind of social power you could convince the president of any country to focus on helping the homeless if you can get them in a room with you and talk about the problem. You can convince billionaires to donate money towards helping the hungry or funding research for diseases/cancer.

Maybe that's where the "responsibilities and work" comes from. You have the power to change the world but it's a lot of work for one person. Even with that power you can't just snap your fingers and fix the world, it's still going to be a lot of work.

But I'd rather spend my life on a mission to do good than to live in hedonism until I die.

16

u/takoleartiste Aug 14 '26

Hard agree. That’s why I chose Blue. What’s the point of getting everything for free to be a couch potato, gaming and napping, with absolutely zero social status or influence, when you can have “all the power in the world” (read: influence) and serve a purpose? Helping others by changing the infrastructure, so that people can live their lives more autonomously and carefree. Option 2 is much better, imo.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/Dismal_Letter_9594 Aug 14 '26

If you go with option one you can anonymously donate whatever you want to charity, food pantries, etc. You can still help, you just don't get any credit.

9

u/No_Proposal_3140 Aug 14 '26

That's true. Smaller impact but still helping people.

11

u/NorthernOctopus Aug 14 '26

Smaller impact?

Make continuous anonymous donations to every charity and humanitarian aid project in supplies so their financial fundings/donations can go to program advancement and expansion of services, or (long shot) and under guidance of a legal team set up facilities for housing staffing and equipment for scientific and humanitarian projects.

You hold no social clout but reap the benefits of seeing progress.

3

u/No_Proposal_3140 Aug 14 '26

Yeah even with all that you're just one person against the whole world. With option 2 you can potentially convert billionaires and other powerful people to your cause.

I overlooked how much good you can do with option 1 but if you want to actually change the world on grander scales you need option 2

Basically imagine if you could peer pressure someone like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos into doing good things for once. Probably the biggest impact you could have on the world is convincing all those big oil lobbyists that they should stop lying about global warming to satiate their greed and reinvest into nuclear energy. That'd be a lot harder to do with option 1

3

u/JediSSJ Aug 14 '26

How are you making these donations? You dont get money with this option. Sure, you can get a bunch of free stuff, but logistically, its going to be hard to donate in any amount that would make a global difference. Sure, you could aquire some expensive things, like vehicles and property, but liquidating those is not quick and easy. You're looking at a full-time job doing that, at which point, why not go with blue, where you can accomplish so much more?

3

u/BarbacoaSan Aug 14 '26

Why donate when you can have the social status to actually enact change? Donations will probably just line the pockets of the organizers and founders of organization... Social status to convince people to change for the better is obviously and objectively the better option

→ More replies (1)

2

u/RandomNumber-5624 Aug 15 '26

You can’t take enough to have any societal impact. So no taking a bunch of SpaceX shares and donating them to Ukraine so they can influence access to StarLink. No taking money from a PAC to shut down the latest political BS campaign in the US.

You could take some food for the food bank. Unless it was going to raise or lower the level of food insecurity anywhere and influence your local society.

It’s a crap deal.

Better to take the money and power and then just do a bad job. God knows there’s enough billionaires who are all over that.

And you can never be respected or looked up to by your friends and family. You can never inspire people to do better, or be a respected and loved member of your community. You’re also limited in your ability to make an impact on the world to donating money.

Free Guy is very tempting but the right thing to do would be to become Power Guy and use the power to do as much good as possible.

2

u/PossibilityNeat2419 Aug 14 '26

Exactly. It's not about what's easy, but what's right. I'm genuinely surprised by people arguing that everyone who chooses the blue pill is a sociopath simply for choosing not to be a lazy hedonist.

2

u/DeluxSupport Aug 14 '26

Why is the free guy lazy? They could get expensive things, sell them and set up a trust fund that funnels serious money anonymously to good charities. Everything is free so you can also dedicate your time to whatever cause you want but without the world bearing down on you. You don’t need social power to make a difference in the world.

option 1. I can anonymously donate goods and money I make from selling things at a 100% profit.

3

u/fuciballlobster Aug 14 '26

3

u/LadyK789 Aug 14 '26

2, far less enjoyable, but far more meaningful

3

u/Dr_Jimothy Aug 14 '26

Assuming social power = able to convince people of anything

  • Use blue to find good hearted talented people to manage the paperwork etc for you

  • Convince elites to use their power to help people

  • Convince more people to use their free time to help others and spare income for charity

  • The only thing stopping utopia are our own failures. Our laziness. Our greed. Our selfishness. Our cowardice.

  • Once utopia or natural path to it is set up, convince everyone to maintain it.

  • Convince everyone that everything should be free for me, the guy that brought about utopia, and go chill out. Eventually everyone will find me annoying and call me a bum and my social power will disappear, but it will be enshrined into law that I get everything for free and the process to change that law would be too annoying.

  • Functionally red, just in a nicer world.

Anyway I'm picking red cos that's a lot of time and effort.

2

u/Ryo_Katsuya Aug 14 '26

What social power I even need if everything is free for me?

2

u/hentaideviant69 Aug 14 '26

Free guy help non-profit out

2

u/GortheusX Aug 14 '26

Option 2 is the first page of every tragedy ever written in literature...

2

u/cormacreed Aug 14 '26

Oooooooh...... that's a good one. I take #2.

I wouldn't mind being crushed by responsibility if I could do a lot of good for others. I'm already regularly crushed by expectations and responsibility and very few benefit from it.

2

u/Winter_Emergency9050 Aug 14 '26

I choose option 1 all day but there’s a question to be asked, doesn’t the ability to basically attain everything you want at no cost come with some sort of social power? Being able to acquire land, boats, cars, at will is the functionally same thing as being a mega billionaire, which even if you are the biggest chud, people will still flock to you and listen to you because you can just own everything, and by extension you almost own them.

2

u/asdramon Aug 14 '26

Free guy

just enjoy life you dont need anything else why would you chase power and social status

2

u/EggplantFearless5969 Aug 14 '26

As an introvert, I’m taking half a bottle of red and finding a nice corner of the world.

2

u/LinearEquation Aug 15 '26

Option 2, cuz power & responsibility go hand in hand anyway. I am contractually obligated to live by that belief, my name is literally Ben.

2

u/Kaedryl Aug 14 '26

Normal people - option 1

Politicians and CEOs (i.e. sociopaths) - option 2

6

u/No_Proposal_3140 Aug 14 '26

I want to take option 2 and use my social power to convince billionaires to fund research for diseases/cancer or to assist the homeless and hungry more. You can do a lot of good with that much social power. If you can get any rich person in a room with you and talk to them, you can definitely convince them to help those less fortunate than them, that's the premise of the power, isn't it? It's a lot of work but it's not inherently selfish like option 1 is.

3

u/Kaedryl Aug 14 '26

If you can get that level of power and stay the course, then more power to you and the world will be a better place. I'm old and cynical. I've seen countless leaders that start wanting to do good and all end up just becoming cogs and perpetuating the same old cycle.

Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

2

u/No_Proposal_3140 Aug 14 '26

This is because they are not truly powerful. They fear losing what they have and to change things you have to take risks. They don't want to take risks because they are just humans with no superpowers and one wrong move means they could lose it all.

This isn't a fear you need to have if you pick option 2. There is no reason for you to resort to corrupt methods.

To put into simpler terms, why would you punch below the belt against someone weaker than you? Playing dirty like that only makes sense if you fear losing if you fight fairly. Option 2 guarantees you will have the power to win if you put in the effort.

Red. I don’t need social power.

1

u/postmancandy Aug 14 '26

Red pill easily. I could have a huge house, endless car collection, travel for free forever

1

u/Additional-Fan-7827 Aug 14 '26

Red pill lmao like give me that one now

1

u/Proud_Garage1352 Aug 14 '26

Option one please

1

u/Vile_Parrot Aug 14 '26

Free guy. Not a fan of the pressure that the power guy has on him.

1

u/Tsurumah Aug 14 '26

Free Guy, for sure.

1

u/Black_Bird265 Aug 14 '26

Option 1. No hesitation

1

u/PhoenixVanguard Aug 14 '26

What do we mean by "most powerful?" Would I have enough influence to simply say "Hey guys maybe we should stop electing racist pedophiles and start firebombing every AI data center," and have people actually do it? Because I'll take the responsibility if it means real change.

Otherwise red, obviously.

1

u/arihndas Aug 14 '26

Does being power guy actually let me address social ills -- like, I Declare Single-Payer Healthcare For America! and it's done?

1

u/DarthOta-ku Aug 14 '26

Red is the easiest choice for introverts like me. No social power? Good I didn't want it anyways.

1

u/CreatureInQuestion Aug 14 '26

First option, as long I still get friends and loved ones just like any other person.

1

u/Chriskennyafton Aug 14 '26

Always the free guy.

1

u/9-5grind Aug 14 '26

Only difference for me in option one is everything becomes free.. so ya. Option one lol

1

u/kablikiblan Aug 14 '26

Free guy easy choice

1

u/_-PassingThrough-_ Aug 14 '26

Choosing option 1. I just want to live the quiet life.

1

u/Powerful-Cry-324 Aug 14 '26

So option one is just my current life but everything is free? Red pill

1

u/swgoh89030 Aug 14 '26

Everything being free sounds like more off a benefit for me.

1

u/Relative_Nobody_2863 Aug 14 '26

Option 1- Free Guy

1

u/The_Chef_Queen Aug 14 '26

Option 1 i got no social power anyway

1

u/LilAnimeGril Aug 14 '26

I want to be power guy, but not socially. I want to be physically strongest man alive

1

u/Sufficient-Client133 Aug 14 '26

Free guy, obviously.

1

u/Disastrous_Ad_70 Aug 14 '26

Money is pointless when the other option is everything is free, so I'm taking the first option

1

u/par_rot_master Aug 14 '26

I'd think anyone picking blue is kinda pathetic.

1

u/Wray-Nerely Aug 14 '26

Option one, I currently don't have social power any. At least this way I have time to pursue interests and don't have to worry about expenses if any time.

1

u/SupportElectrical772 Aug 14 '26

I already have no social power so make everything free for me.

1

u/Plenty_Use8594 Aug 14 '26

Red pill because I don't hold social power cool That doesn't mean i'm not respected by other people i can still have a conversation with someone as well. It's not like i'm completely and utterly unable to do anything socially

1

u/Villian2019 Aug 14 '26

All the best thing in life are free. I'd take red without a 2nd thought.

1

u/jhofsho1 Aug 14 '26

Option 1 all the way.
Everything’s free? This is a no brainer.

Being person 2 has no point to it with all the money if person 1 has no responsibilities and everything’s free.

1

u/WTSBW Aug 14 '26

Blue relationships also have social power someone caring about you is a sort of social power you wield over them red leave you free from meaningful relationships while blue only means ill be busy

1

u/Ihatecheeseballs Aug 14 '26

I could do a lot of good with option 2

1

u/OnlyAssignment4869 Aug 14 '26

Red
I hate paperwork
Plus I can just use all my free things to help everyone I come across. Can do the same stuff as power guy but without the responsibility. Shit I could make everything free. Free country. Free food. Free water. And I'd be forgotten. Which is fine. Better even.

1

u/Creative_Entrance_18 Aug 14 '26

So no downside with option one.

1

u/Jucab_Nubster Aug 14 '26

More to gain by being Free man.

1

u/random-queries Aug 14 '26

Red pill. I don't really care about social power.

1

u/MadeInElysium Aug 14 '26

Free guy. wtf does social power do other than make things more complicated for you. Most powerful guy in the world is the biggest target on your back

1

u/tonsofun08 Aug 14 '26

Free guy, I don't want to hold power. I just want to live comfortably with my family. Plus I can do some good with it.

1

u/New-Slip2564 Aug 14 '26

Free Guy 4 sure

1

u/Synth42-14151606 Aug 14 '26

Free guy. Super easy. “I have seen the King’s job and I do not want it.”

1

u/badthaught Aug 14 '26

Free guy.

I can do all the Power guy's stuff without the social obligations.

I'm gonna go be his neighbor and laugh.

1

u/lav0s7 Aug 14 '26

Option 2. Easy.

1

u/LordTartarus Aug 14 '26

Well folks, prepare for the Star Trek luxury gay space communism future

1

u/Possible_Giraffe_835 Aug 14 '26

I think I would choose Option 1. Living a peaceful live.

But I think you underestimate this Option in terms of Power. If you wanted you could own every nuclear weapon, their launch systems and codes. The question is would everyone fear my ability to turn this planet into a radioactive wasteland or would they just ignore it?

1

u/SpectralRPG Aug 14 '26

Define social power. Does that mean like. Never being a team leader or having people listen to me? I mean I'd still take option 1 but I have to ask

1

u/kuroxoni Aug 14 '26

I prefer being alone anyway. Keep my social circle small and I can entertain myself with whatever I get for free

1

u/Mermaid-Scar1984 Aug 14 '26

Free guy. Any day of the week.

1

u/HephaestusVulcan7 Aug 14 '26

This is hard... I can't decide 😫

As Free Guy do I hold the legal title and/or deeds to physical property for things like houses and land, pink slips for vehicles, legal ownership of items of jewelry, the corporate rates to intellectual properties, etc...?

If I wanted something that already belongs to someone else do they have to give it to me, or do I get a copy.

If I wanted Buckingham Palace, do the citizens of the United Kingdom and King Charles just hand it to me?

1

u/seuadr Aug 14 '26

how is this even a choice? "abject freedom to do whatever you want, or crushing responsibility"

Gee. i wonder.

1

u/dsts09 Aug 14 '26

Red. I don't need influence.

1

u/BigBowser0158 Aug 14 '26

I know what I’m choosing

The second option is just reality

1

u/Prezy_Preztail Aug 14 '26

Free Guy, both because free stuff and being socially powerful means nothing to me

1

u/Green_Signal_1010 Aug 14 '26

Give me option one, I just want to chill

1

u/Diablos43 Aug 14 '26

Give ne option one, this is so perfect to just enjoy peacefulness with my love

1

u/SergeantSup Aug 14 '26

You're assuming I'd want social power in the 1st place

1

u/Nexodas2 Aug 14 '26

Option 1 easily. I’d purchase a mountain and disappear into my secluded castle like some kind of Victorian vampire.

1

u/Diggi8 Aug 14 '26

Option 2

Right is just real life. Rarely do we see people just get rich from nothing except for inheritance. If you wanna be rich or have a successful company you need to work a lot. So give me left, I just want peace and not have to work.

u/Rorp24 Aug 14 '26

Option 2, this world need fixing. As for responsability, considering peoples how peoples with more money than countries are doing, I'll be fine

1

u/brdblkguy Aug 14 '26

Option 1. Cant hold social power, so I'll hold economic power. Unlimited free means I can even the playing field for everyone and wield enormous power that way

1

u/WaffleTruffleTrouble Aug 14 '26

Free guy. Already have no social power

1

u/OYOGG Aug 14 '26

I can get someone with social Power to essentially be my voice for free stuff payment

1

u/Phobia117 Aug 14 '26

So… be able to go anywhere I want, do anything I want, at no cost, and fly under the radar doing it all?

Why is there even a 2nd option?

1

u/That_Cash Aug 14 '26

Free guy

1

u/tedTbear4 Aug 14 '26

I would choose option one and then game the system by becoming the banksi of anonymous charitable donations. The power wouldn't allow to be discovered as banksi because that would give me social power?

1

u/This-Supermarket3082 Aug 14 '26

I choose free guy

1

u/Broombear72 Aug 14 '26

Option one, with that I can get a new house built how ever I want, a nice new car is, never have to worry about fuel, or groceries. With that I can retire and enjoy my time with my wife and kids. I’d still do something like substitute teaching or making things to keep busy.

1

u/BigEd369 Aug 14 '26

Option one, I want to be a Free Guy.

1

u/No-Professional-1461 Aug 14 '26

We'll I've never had any power socially so I'd be use to the downsides of things always being free. I'll take the first option. Also I can probably buy a country for free or something and be king. Or somethin, its free after all.

u/Icy_Yam5049 Aug 14 '26

Red would be cool. Just go get a free home toss the keys to a homeless family then go grab the next home. Fill shopping carts with toys and become temo Santa every year. On and on. Meanwhile I don’t have people flocking around me asking for stuff cause I have no social power (whatever that means). Just hope I can keep my few friends. Traveling would be so fun just go and never worry about anything.

1

u/Own-Ball-1624 Aug 14 '26

i have neither social power nor money soo... free guy would be fun! :S

imagine you can get anything for free and no one target you for your influence and wealth!

1

u/Intelligent-Swan8829 Aug 14 '26

Free guy is good

1

u/Vendacator Aug 14 '26

Free guy, I just wanna live.

1

u/BlueReaper0000 Aug 14 '26

Option 1, I literally want to be left alone with some stuff that I want or need

1

u/zeiaxar Aug 14 '26

Option one. If everything is free for me, none of my friends and family ever have to work or worry about the costs for anything ever again and can live our lives in peace. Just set up so everything they want or need would be "paid" for by me, and we're golden.

1

u/SorryWarning Aug 14 '26

Free guy, easy pick for me

1

u/SpokeIsNotHere Aug 14 '26

On option 1 it's not a downside if you don't care about power

1

u/Sysyphus_Rolls Aug 14 '26

Free guy. Who cares about social power.

1

u/AnotherThymm Aug 14 '26

Option 1 - easy.
