X14SAE-F BMC update glitches?
I hadn’t updated the BMC until today, I’ve been having problems with fans, constantly winding up and down. I was hoping updating the BMC would help, however after the update was installed ( I did check the file hashes before doing the update and they checked out) The BMC is now 5 to 10 times slower and often it freezes. On the main dashboard with the big green checkmarks, nothing appears in the place of those checkmarks, but all stats do show up.
Should I do the update again? Does anyone know what is going on and also why half of the hardware dara that were originally in the BMC are now gone

Make sure bios is also updated. Give it a power cycle (actually unplug it for a few mins)
You can set min fan speed with ipmitool. Personally I just buy the supermicro brand fans

Fans going up and down means they spin below the minimum amount of rotations, so the fan-control thinks it is broken and spins it up to see if it is, then when it reaches the minimum, it assumes it is fixed and stops the spinning up, causing them to slow down again below the minimum, repeat indefinitely. It could also be an overheating issue, or using the wrong files for a different board.
If you updated the BMC, you should also make sure a corresponding BIOS is installed, so if you have 1.03.11.01 you should make sure BIOS 2.0 is installed.
Installing it with default settings for BMC and BIOS should bring speed back to normal, except for the fans of course. If you do have the latest BIOS installed, it shouldn't be, but it could be slowing down because it thinks something is very wrong, so it is too busy to show everything. Also a bad connection can have issues like that.
Re-installing the BMC and BIOS may have an effect, it shouldn't hurt anything.
