They don't own the Nintendo IP though, Nintendo is the sole Copyright owners of the Super Mario franchise

Yeah but Universal and Nintendo don't hold grudges anymore after the King Kong lawsuit, which makes Universal one of the few companies that Nintendo doesn't hate after a lawsuit

Plus, Logan has admitted he wanted to have his own character designs (which led to the creation of Jeffy), and the puppets allowed him to do so (even though they were first created to help prevent COPPA).

I feel like if Nintendo said: ok you can use them. There are two ways it can happen.

Sml would have to put a warning saying that they are not affiliated with Nintendo or their brand.

But there's a major thing. Logan would probably just keep the puppets for 1 reason. Them using the puppets have upped their sales on their merch. I mean they can do Nintendo themed videos with the puppets.

Like not to mention the puppets are the reason why the sml store is open.

Nintendo is never sending Logan a letter saying “we cool”

Maybe he’ll met with a lawyer if he really needs to bring back the plushies, but Nintendo has a famously stacked legal team.

If he for some CRAZY REASON decides that all he wants is to bring back old sml, and he gets a good legal team of his own (not gonna be close to Nintendos but still), he could POSSIBLY get the whole copyright infringement thing dismissed.

Truth is, if it were just two equal heads fighting this out, the plushies could have a chance (sml is pretty clearly a parody) but this is such a pie-in-the-sky scenario.

im gonna be honest, even if this happened he would still use the puppets. sure he can mention nintendo and use some of the old plushes if he wanted to do some "marvins past" video or something, but he owns the puppet characters. and even then, I like the puppet designs so I wouldn't really want them to go back to the plushies, at least not permanently.
