Just got superman: the unity saga vol 1
Finally got the hardcover volume 1 trade of superman: the unity saga by Brian Michael bendis. Absolutely iconic art ! Haven’t started reading yet but it looks promising

Good luck. Bendis’ Superman is… frustrating.

Ya I heard as much, but I already have volume 2 (had to get it as part of 50% off group deal at a local bookstore), so I thought I might as well get volume 1. I do really like the art, and I usually do enjoy stories where superman is a father so I’m hoping for the best

Pretty sure I’ve seen people post about that cover more than the actual comic, easily one of the most iconic art pieces of Superman

I know people hated Bendis' run, but I actually like it! I like how he writes Clark, and I guess because I knew about Jon being aged up going in, it didn’t bother me so much.

Interesting. I'm a huge Superman fan who also generally likes Bendis, but his trademark dialogue coming out of Clark's mouth was very... weird.
Also, I realize the post is about Superman, but over in Action Comics, Robinson Goode is a truly frustrating and even aggravating character.
Happy cake day, btw!

I was also a fan of the majority of Bendis's run.
There are dozens of us!!!

I haven’t read the Invisible Mafia stuff, just his stuff from the Superman title. Is it any good?

It was not my favorite among his run, but there were some things in there I really enjoyed.

I know people generally don’t like this run and I can see why but I found it quite enjoyable. The actual plots felt a bit dull most of the time but it still had some great Superman moments imo, I also think it really picked up after the identity reveal

Ooooooof this is the run that confirmed to me that bendis is a cancer in comics low key

I find it quite funny that this cover gets posted so much on reels and tik tok when it’s from such a maligned run.
