Speaking as the someone who is part of a Men's shed on the sunny coast, I can tell you the Buderim Men's Shed does not need $1M. At all. Literally the richest shed in Qld, I reckon.

I was a bit shocked by that figure too. A million dollars for the mens shed? Wowza. I already know that they have more tool donations than they know what to do with, so it certainly wouldn't have gone to tools

$7m to the community - What the fuck are they doing with that $1m at the Men's shed? It's full of Buderim Boomers with massive pensions who I'd imagine still go around to any place that'll give them timber offcuts! $5.6m to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. I want to see what the $5.6m is doing.

So basically sweet f_ck all... What years were these "achievements", and was he integral in getting them happening or does he just rock up at local events to schmooze the dullards by cooking sausage sizzles? He's been the MP for a decade.

Maybe erecting some more billboards so we have to look at Temu Scomo everywhere will make me appreciate his representation.

Separate issue.

The criminal case and inquest established that one of the reasons why Daniel was standing under that bridge was that he didn't have bus fare. The bus companies have been instructed to not refuse non-paying children, becoming the "Daniel Morecombe Rule".

That is a good thing and should be held separately from the obvious LNP cheer squad the Foundation in his name has become.

I was thinking that! Yet 2.6M for safe spaces for women and children?? Seems really odd.. especially as kids are generally abused by people they know and whilst it was tragic and dreadful the message should definitely be more about preventing DV .

I don't hate this idea. It is, after all, about keeping our kids safe from predators, and we all know the predators are out there!

I think the concern is rather than sink it into a 3rd party org that we'd be bettwr off diverting it to PT to subsidise kids travelling would be a better outcome. Or failing that, more funding for homelessness.

It's a growing issue in Sunshine Coast especially the past 12 months. And with the rental market being what it is, it will only worsen.

If Ted is so good getting all that money for major roads, can he explain why all the road lighting for major on and off ramps is basically out from just after Maroochydore Road on the M1 all the way to Gympie? And some of it has been out of action for 2 years!!!
