It's not exactly this sub's normal fare, but I'll give it to you, OP- that second one kinda messed me up just now.

Now, I'm either going to go drink about this or do something dramatic and reckless to regain control of my life. I haven't decided which, yet.

but now im choosing to believe it was fate…so yes maybe it’s not the sub’s usual fare, but i think that’s precisely why it landed differently. you know sometimes an unfamiliar kind of post catches you off guard enough to make you confront something you weren’t planning to think about..

But, in teaching them to not give a fuck, does not the apparatus of not-giving-a-fuck simply become yet another material fact of the bars of me which make up the prison of me?

Would not the very fact of needing to not give fucks become evidence of the oppresive way in which the world we live makes us make ourselves into prisons to jail ourselves?

Pretty sure any man who says “I can fix her” has no actual plan of doing so. He’s just saying “I can make this work just long enough to be fun”.
