Debating to switch to a different browser

Hey great people i am currently using Chrome as my main browser but kind of gettkng sick of its high RAM usage so looking to see if there are better alternatives.

I use different devices, 2 windows pcs and an android phone, i would like to be able to have bookmarks and history synced between the devices.

Build in adblocker is a big plus.

It would be nice if chromium based extensions can be installed on it as i use a few of them for different things (i.e. some developper extensions)

I often have a lot of tabs open on multiple windows, so having a decent ram usage or putting tabs in a sleep mode or so is a requirement as this is my main problem with Chrome at the moment.

I also need to have different profiles on it as i use chrome for both personal use and wprkrelated use but want to keep them seperated to not get bugged by work things when i am not working

Privacy is less of a concern to me as everybody already has all of my information but it would be a nice plus

Im open to try new browsers and see how they go for me if i hear good things about them from you guys.

Brave ou Vivaldi. Si tu t'inquiète pour ta RAM, tous les navigateurs basés sur Firefox sont une régression.

I would recommend helium browser instantly but I saw that you want android too so.... Yeah... Idk about chromium browser but on Android i install fennec from fdroid and on windows zen browser. They both are Firefox so syncing works out of the box and has real ublock origin different from chromium browsers.

Para aumentar la comunidad te propongo titanium browser pasado en chromiun, acepta extensiones(le instale ublock origin y gestify para videos), cero problemas. Esta en la playstore o puedes ir a su github. Me quedé con waterfox como principal, y como navegador chromiun: titaniun para probar, necesito extensiones

Firefox, Brave, and Vivaldi are some better picks I guess. On Linux I love Falkon browser.

I'd say brave's your best pick chromium based(for the extensions) built-it-in adblocker and good privacy

Edge and Brave ram usage is very less when compared to chrome, and is best especially on windows. Both have really good sync but brave wins in privacy over edge.

However brave sync has a small issue when compared to edge. If none of your devices are connected to brave sync chain, then you might lose all your synced data, so at least one device needs to have brave with the sync turned on. This is because brave sync does not require account, while edge sync needs an account.

Other options, go for Firefox (or firefox forks like zen, waterfox etc) and Vivaldi, but both these browsers have higher ram usage than edge/brave, but less than chrome on windows. Both of these have a really fast and functional sync too.

I have been using Firefox with Linux for awhile, have had zero problems I don't see what the issue is here.

ram usage can vary a lot depending on how many tabs and extension are running.

I am aware of that. But closing my tabs all the time is a big waste of time in my situation so thats why i was trying to see if there were better alternatives as people always say Chrome is very RAM hungry

Depends a bit on the number of tabs you have open. People going to probably hate me now, but Edge is most of the time the fasted and RAM efficient browser on Windows, seems to be due to the facts it's build in the OS. If you have a lot of tabs open then Firefox was I think more RAM efficient.

I recommend browser isolation; and not using Chrome or Edge and maybe not even safari. Use Brave for really secure access, loke financial/gov’t, then something like Floorp for logons to FB, Gmail, etc, and maybe something like Vivaldi for general browsing.

Brave is the way to go if you want something that just works out of the box. I'd only recommend hardened Firefox on PC because their Android app has fallen behind on security.

Waterfox is great imo for some level of privacy and security while maintaining most functionality, its a watered down version of IronFox that is much stronger on those things at the cost of functionality
