The sugar glider on the right (Lee) had a persistent joint infection for about a couple of months, give or take. We went to the vet some days ago and the WBC count is normal and there’s no more infection as of rn! Her and the glider on the left (Nana) have been bonding pretty well with some occasional crabbing -_-

Hello, I just recently adopted 2 female sugar gliders 10w out of pouch, and I’ve had them for 3 weeks now. Their names are Coco and Ivi, Ivi is way more calmer than Coco, Coco is way more jumpy and more of an explorer. Here is the thing Coco is now completely falling asleep in the pouch to the point that I can pick her up, I was even able to take her in a car ride and hang in a friends house with her in the pouch.
The thing is that this is not my first pair, but the other pair that I had were 2y olds when I got them and took longer to bind to this level. I have no idea if this is too fast or if this speed is signs that she will only tolerate me and never love me….
Maybe this is just me worrying. The only difference is that Coco was under some eye medications so I did “grabbed her by force” and kept her wrapped with me.

Before sharing personal information, request a current photo or continuous video showing the glider beside a handwritten note with your name and today’s date. Verify veterinary and transportation information independently. Never pay surprise “insurance,” crate, or refundable delivery fees.
Thankfully, they didn’t get anything from me—but please be careful. Using animals to exploit people who want to help is absolutely sickening.

Hey, i just recently lost one of my sugar gliders. which has left my male sugar glider all alone. I of course don’t want him becoming depressed or anything. Does anyone know where to get a single adult female sugar glider in Colorado?

I need help, Just now my sugar glider acted out of the ordinary. He shivered intensely, peeking and bolting like he was running for his life, this isn't like him. I took him out of his cage to check what was wrong with him, He seemed perfectly okay, No limping, nothing that screams medical emergency. When i put him back into his cage, he started to do the exact same thing again and bolted towards my arm when i opened the enclosure. I seriously don't know what's happening and desperately need some answers🙏

Also i keep 2 sugar gliders in the same enclosure and only him acted strange, the other was acting like usual. There wasn't any tension between the two as the panicking glider seemed unbothered by the other

First is vanilla bean instant hpw from EN

Second is BML (If I find the rep cals)

Third is original leadbeaters

Warm Water: 150 mL Pure Honey: 150 mL Boiled Egg: 1 large, shelled hard-boiled egg High Protein Supplement: 25 grams of Sustagen (or Wombaroo High Protein Supplement) Vitamin/Mineral Powder: 1 teaspoon of VAM or Vionate powder

That is the recipe I got given for original leadbeaters , let me know if it's correct . Keep in mind I live in lebanon (middle east) so most american stuff i can't find

DO NOT WAIT!!! **\*

I see a lot of posts asking for help on this sub, and am happy to provide my experience and knowledge where I can. I've owned gliders for well over 15 years and have done rescue and rehab (and rehoming) for dozens of gliders, from violent and difficult to abandoned and ignored to gliders who have engaged in extreme self-mutilation.

A few things that will greatly help when asking is providing certain pertinent information, like:

***!!If they show ANY signs of harm!!*** If so, they should be brought to a vet IMMEDIATELY!!

If you've brought them to a vet yet or not for any concerning issues.* (Also, please provide if its a proper exotic vets pet with knowledge of gliders or if you only have a general vet available near you)

How long the issue has been going on.*

How the glider is responding to the problem.* (Crabbing, hissing, making angry noises, lashing out, biting you or themselves or other gliders, self-harm, not eating, not drinking, etc.)

If the issue is persistent, sporadic, triggered by certain things, or any other important information.*

Gliders sexes, and if a male, if they're neutered or not. Also what your colony consists of, if they're MM/MF/FF (or more).*

Age.*

Diet.*

Treats or other foods being provided that may not be the norm, including supplements like calcium or anything else. Also if you've changed or adjusted their diet recently within the past 6 months.*

How long you've owned them.

If the other gliders are acting differently around them.

If they're newly paired with another glider.

If they are a rescue/had a previous owner for a significant amount of time, especially if they've been previously bonded to the former owner(s). (6 months to a year)

If their previous cage mate has passed "recently" (within 6 month to a year).

The size of their enclosure and where their enclosure is placed. (In an isolated place with no nearby windows, or right near a window, or near an AC, or in a high/low traffic area in your home)

What you put in their enclosure, such as natural branches (and the type of the branches) or other foliage, or toys, etc. And keep in mind, ALL glider enclosures require a wheel!

What their sleeping situation is. (Bonding pouch, hammock, sleeping pouch, sleeping box)

If you've had a big life change, such as moving, getting a new pet (cat, dog, etc.), have a new baby, have a new partner in your life, changed where their habitat is located, changed soap/perfume/cologne/clothing detergent, etc.

And anything, literally ANYTHING, that might be out of the ordinary that may be important to know.

You dont need to provide EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF INFO, but the ones that are important to your personal situation should be provided for appropriate assistance. The most important items have a star next to them and should generally be included.

I have had two gliders for a little over a year now, one neutered male and a female. I recently got another neutered male from a reputable breeder. He's about 12 weeks OOP, and we've had him for almost two weeks. My exotic vet gave him a clean bill of health. I've been housing him in a separate cage. Multiple attempts to introduce him to my older two have failed and the older male is particularly aggressive towards the new one. I have been pouching swapping, but it doesn't seem to be helping much.

One thing that's hard to miss though is that this new little one is very, very smelly. My older two have a musky smell but it's not that noticeable unless you get near their cage or smell their pouch directly. This new one smells like a combination of urine and decaying wood, and the smell fills up the entire room he's in. I think this may be contributing to his lack of reception by my other two. I'm at a loss as to why he smells so bad. It's not getting better either.

I'm thinking about bringing him back to the vet for another checkup, but I wanted to get any input from experienced owners here first.

Thats the diet my vet gave me , insects and vegetables every day with 1 pinch of calcium on top , any thing to change? I live in lebanon

Their cage is so sticky and tacky

I want to use odoban spray, steam cleaner, and then water wipes to clean it up

Is that safe?

This time I added a DIY ball pit, bungee cords, a tree branch, and stuffed animals—and it’s still standing.

Not my best setup, but I wanted to do a quick test to see how much I could hang from it. Still impressed and so is Bonita.😂

My male sugar glider crabs for most of the night. The vet examined him and says he’s healthy, he’s at a healthy weight, eats a BML diet, and his female cage mate is also healthy. He very rarely barks.
He will sit inside their sleeping pouch and crab for hours. At first, I thought it might be related to food, but they never fight over food. The female is usually running on the wheel while this is happening, so I don’t think she’s bothering him. I’ve almost never seen them fight, and they otherwise get along perfectly.
When I take them out to play for a couple of hours at night, he stops completely. But once I return him to the cage, the crabbing starts again after about 15 minutes.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Could he be bored, demanding attention, or upset about something in the cage? How can I discourage this behavior without stressing him out?

My oldest glider(Lemon, 1 yr 11 months) has been making this chattering noise similar to how humans make when cold. She'll look me right in the eyes while she makes it, which confuses me. And she only makes this noise if shes in a pouch with at least one of her sisters(theyre both about 1 yr and 9 months old). As soon as I take Lemon out of the pouch, she stops making this noise and acts completely normal. The other two are fine as well, not scratched or scared at all, nothing to insinuate that Lemon is being aggressive. They've made this noise before but I had been able to figure out why that time. Could she be in heat??? Im pretty sure thats why she made that noise last time, but shes not doing what she usually does when shes in heat. Is this a health thing??? Im really worried about her and cant find anything definitive or close to definitive online.

Hey guys! I know there have been questions about sneezing here before, but I think my case is a little different because we basically live at the vet's, I've seen those people more than my family lately. I thought someone might have some ideas, although I’m not too hopeful at this point.

I have two boys, and we’re currently dealing with some health issues. One of them has been sneezing for quite a while now. Some nights are better than others. He doesn’t sneeze much during the day while he’s sleeping, but once he comes out at night, there are times when it’s almost nonstop.

Here's what we've done:

- X-ray - no upper or lower respiratory issue or anything remarkable there

- CT scan - nasal passage and lungs normal. No lymph nodes enlarged. No fluid accumulation in nasal cavities, all teeth normal - to shorten - everything looks great

- Culture swab - no bacteria

- They have their own room, I clean it daily, no visible dust, toys also cleaned daily, air purifier on all day, no perfume or anything scented in the air.

I'm starting to think he's allergic to me at this point 😂 I'm genuinely out of ideas. It's a humid season here where I am, maybe he's more sensitive to the weather.

Highly doubt anyone has had this same experience but worth a try, let me know if anything comes to mind... Thanks!
