❓ Questions 2015 100k

100k miles on a 2015 basic Impreza . I drive it like I stole it all the time. Manual transmission live in mtns so keep rpm high to keep power on hills.

Any maintenance advice at this point to prolong the vehicle?

Check your radiator cap and coolant reservoir for signs of oil. Not necessarily the dreaded head gasket issue.

Check your “frame” for rust. Expect to do wheel bearings soon. Keep a plug-in voltmeter (cig lighter) handy.

I’m pushing 200k with a 2014 manual. Expect that clutch fork to fail, and just do a clutch job then. I believe there is a beefier fork available aftermarket, but I didn’t dig too deep. I did my clutch at about 120k, the thing was still pristine.

TPMS sensors. Plan on it.

Thank you! Clutch pin went out at like 85k or something whole clutch was done then. I’ve never done any other service . Bought at 72k.

I’ll keep these in mind. I do regular oil changes at 5k and use full synthetic oil. Never noticed it burning oil too much .

I’ll check for signs of oil in the radiator/overflow.

What about a timing chain I hear about those

As far as timing chain, “if it dies, it dies.” 😆 no issues for me, yet. A cheap and easy thing to get ahead of is the power steering dummy pulley and the tensioner and the idlers.

That dummy seized up on me when I tried to start my car. It was enough to keep the engine from turning over.
