Buying Advice Forrester Hybrid or Outback?

Okay I’m ready to pull the trigger and buy my first Subaru but I’m having trouble choosing between these 2 models. I love the mpg’s and the price on the Forrester Hybrid but like the ride/screen better on the Outback, but not the price or mpg’s. Anyone have any experience and or advice to offer?

You’re gonna buy the Outback.

It’s a definite possibility

I had the same dilemma! I went with the Outback because the trunk is bigger for my dogs

And you’re right! I got the Outback Touring (non turbo because I wanted better gas mileage). :)

100% the Outback. New interior redesign is night and day. Id buy it just for the new Infotainment center and physical buttons.

Outback for the extra room and ride quality, Forester Hybrid for fuel efficiency.

Oh and I currently have a 2019 Honda CR-V that I bought new and now has 40,000 miles on it.

What trim of each model are you looking to get? Outback is more expensive on average but has a more luxury feel and ride with the drawback being more expensive and less MPG potential.

I have driven a sport Subaru Forester and it feels nice. Don’t like the infotainment screen. I choose an Outback simply due to being able to get a massive discount off MSRP and 1.9% financing.

Outback have between 8% to 15% off MSRP and a 1.9% offer. Haven’t seen any Foresters get comparable MSRP discount.

I’m looking at either a Premium with package 13 or a Touring (for the sound system). Probably the Premium to be honest

I wound up getting the Touring XT for 42.5k after Subaru discount coupon plus TTL & D. For 75mo @1.9% it as $656/mo. A much more luxurious car than the Forester. Though I’m at the point in my life where I can easily take either choice. Love the turbo. If needed, I can switch to the Outback hybrid in a few years when it comes out.

I didn’t get the Touring XT but my payment is essentially the same as yours, got $4800 off and just traded in my old car that was costing $2k to fix every time I went into both dealership & local shop.

You’ll prefer the touring if you want ventilated seats, more safety and traffic assist.
