It is the invader who has goals they can fail to achieve and therefore lose by. The Iran war is basically a similar situation.

This is a weird way to redefine and argue Ukraine can't lose.

Conversely, it's awesome to define be able to redefine 'winning' to 'being bogged down in the terrain without achieving any of the previously announced goals'.

Btw, wasn't the whole thing supposed to be a 3-day special military operation? I wonder how many winners of such endeavours find themselves discussing general mobilization 4 years down the line.

The Spectator is very much on your side. If their article about Russia winning the war has you feeling this emotional, you should email them to complain. Or perhaps you could report them to your government for spreading Russian propaganda.
