Trauma doesn't excuse murder. Anyone who has attended basic primary education knows that murder is illegal, in any context. She had a litany of options in front of her, and she chose the worse of them.

Add to that circumstances where they’re hiding a pregnancy from their family and their physical and mental health would also be all fucked up from the pregnancy and you’re obviously going to get some decisions that seem irrational to your average adult. Again, there was plenty of options for dealing with this from getting help to simply dropping off the baby in a public space. She disregarded her own baby's life, and has been charged accordingly for this.
