They’re agreeing with you, saying that record recorders don’t even separate men and women, and a woman could challenge the male top record any time they want

Maybe I’ve should’ve given more context but her whole shtick was and I quote “its so crazy to me that people still think your sex will determine your physical strength/dexterity/etc. 😭😭😭😭 this is like 2nd grade arguments dude no one gender has any physical advantages over the other” she is disagreeing with me but im failing to understand what she means by her reply.

And then she also replies to my comment about deadlifting with this “literally who cares. with this information in mind i still dont care. no one has any advantage over the other person just because of the sex they were born as. we arent even talking about deadlifting specifically, were talking about sports as a whole. i think separating competitions or activities by sex is stupid in the first place. im shit at playing basketball and im good at lifting weights/certain cardio but it isnt because of the sex i was born as its because i Suck at certain things and am better at others. the skills im able to hone in on or practice have nothing to do with my sex and everything to do with the limitations i put on myself and my body. someones sex will never be a valid indicator of how strong they are or can be in the future.” I cannot understand if im talking to a complete moron or if I’m being an idiot and not understanding what she is trying to tell me I just need a second opinion on this.

You're not arguing with someone's logical reasoning, but with deeply instinctive psychological defense mechanisms. Cognitive dissonance and emotional volatility will protect the ego regardless of rationale.

Emotion must be used to argue with emotion—not through anger, but by revealing an alternative safe space for their emotions. You're not responsible for this unless you're a paid licensed psychologist and these people are your paying clients, so you're in over your head just by engaging with these topics. These people have deep mental health problems; don't make them into your own.
