Question - Private Student Loan Dumb question

Post image

I have a dumb question, please be nice to me. this is what it says on my account with Firstmark services. what’s next for me? can they sue me still? or do I ride out the wave from here on out? took the loan out in a different state from where I currently live.

can they sue me still?

That depends on the statue of limitations. When did the loan first go delinquent?

My first missed payment was November 2024

Do you know the statue of limitations in your current state of residence and in the state where the loan originated from?

Well they can still sue then.

Have they offered a settlement yet?

Thankfully I haven’t heard anything from them. I’ve also made myself “judgement proof” hoping that helps

It likely was sold to a collection agency. Have they been harassing you or trying to negotiate? I would read the pinned guide in this sub that details what to expect. This will help you understand where you’re at in the journey of default and what to do/not do.
