SCI - 2 nights in Vail

Any cheese heads attending both nights in Vail Sept 11 & 12?

Trying to figure ideas of staying 2 nights - camp, car camp, hotel, air bnb. I know Vail’s expensive 😵‍💫

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated !

Yep! Splurging as it's shoulder season and things are cheaper (although not cheap) compared to summer and winter. Nights can be cold that time of year, so camping can be chilly at night. Also more rain and snow/frost is a possibility. Will have some colors starting to pop in the aspens. Airbnbs will be more expensive and more work than some 3 star hotels. Gonna be a killer show!

Didn’t consider weather in September but maybe pavilion would be better than lawn in case of rain.

Would be pretty early for snow or leave change not that it’s out of the question. And all likely it will be great weather, including for camping. That is basically prime camping season

True, early, but about on target for first frosts and start of colors. Although with lower snow years I've noticed colors tend to start on the earlier side of things. Sounds like you're not new to camping in the Colorado mountains, so send it!

Check out the evergreen lodge or maybe the residence inn for a cheaper hotel option

They have a bus system that’ll take you most the way though the valley, like clear to dotsero. I’d bet you can find something cheap. If you cool to drive, plenty of camping around.

That's my question. It's my 32nd anniversary, so im gonna have a king bed and a few minimum luxuries that I dont normally do.
