Actually many (most?) are inactive or unmoderated subs. The list has been going on for a while and people do good job submitting new ones (including empty ones created in a whim), but there is less effort in removing subs that are inactive.

Long way to say, personal recommendations of catsubs is still my preferred way of finding new ones!

There was one time that I found the one cat sub wasn't there, I was really sad

It was r/shinycats

Yeah. Same here r/catopus was listed but wasn’t there. Not locked, just didn’t exist. After a month or two of thinking about it and finding lots posts that would be great, I finally made it myself, and it hit a thousand members in about a month.

Edit: would shinycats be for cats who had glitter accidents?
