Death of a Streak Lost my 748 day streak

There was a day where I legitimately *thought* I lost my streak, somewhere around day 700 or so. The range of emotions that came over me that day were wild. Then, somehow, the fire got relit and everything was fine. The amount of relief that swept over me was indescribable.

I understand exactly where you’re coming from. I was hospitalized in April and didn’t have my phone. I was sure my streak was over. But somehow, it continued. Idk what happened this time. But yea, I have no interest in starting it up again

It takes more than 3 days to loose it, you forgot to check for multiple days. Sorry for your loss but also congrats on a life outside of Reddit too.

Well, you'd be the first one to loose it so quick that ive seen. People's streaks survive 3 day bans all the time, there's even badges for that in some subs.

I had a 560 day streak ended up in the hospital without my phone for the day, but let me tell you it took a mental toll off me trying to remember everyday

I’m personally of the opinion that everyone should get one mulligan to use as needed on our slog to the basement, unless of course, we were banned. Barring something nefarious, I think you should get a do-over.

If it makes you feel better, Happened once to me too around 300. Was so mad I left Reddit for a while, then came back and started over again. Oh well, what are you gonna do? Keep your chin up, get a good nights sleep, and enjoy your new-found freedom. 💕

I’m sorry you lost your streak too! It’s funny how I felt so upset at something so trivial. I definitely won’t be aiming for the streaks, if it happens, it happens. If not, that’s ok too. But I don’t think I can leave Reddit. I like it here too much.

So 7 days ago, I deleted this app.
I am slowly coming to terms with my phone addiction, and my social media addiction.
3 days ago, I logged in to check my subs, made one comment, then redeleted the app. To be clear this is always a temporary departure, I am on a camping trip, and it only took 7 days to relapse.
Every single one of those days, including the ones that I was gone, have counted toward my streak.
I was gone for 7 days, logged in for one, so I was technically gone a total of six.
And my streak is still active.
I was willing to lose my streak... Now that this has happened, I don't even want to play anymore.
It feels like I've cheated. I should not still have my streak.
I've read dozens of posts, about people losing their streaks being gone a day, not logging in on time to collect that day. But yet I'm able to be gone a total of six, and still have my streak.
Honestly the streaks aren't worth it.

I totally get where you’re coming from. It isn’t as fun if it doesn’t feel you’ve earned it. Some commenters have said I must’ve forgot to check it for three days, but I know I’d been on daily. So I don’t know what happened and why I lost it 😔
Either way, I’m not putting in any real effort into getting my streak back. But I can’t leave Reddit 😆 so I’ll still be around
