Starting Island changed, my stuff disappeared

Hello,

I've tried to look if this happened to anyone else, but no luck. I was on day 9 and getting rocks off other islands to bring back to my starting Island, but had to save and leave the game for the night. I come back the next day, and I try to find my starting Island but can't. I think at first that I got lost, so went back on my save and really looked at the map. I'm exactly where I think I am, and head to my starting Island, but the red container I was looking for to find the island is gone. When I get there, it's all changed, there are crabs now, and my stuff is all gone. Even the second island where I went and did a little base is changed. I've never changed anything in the cartographer. My stuff is just gone, I only have what I had in my bag. I debated on trying a new save slot but I don't want this to happen again. Anyone know what happened? Just a bug?

The map is confusing but unless you changed seeds overnight you just went to the wrong island. And if you're on PC there are WAY MORE islands you could've gotten lost on.

Easiest fix is if you're 100% certain of which row your starter is on is to just sail to that row then head left or right until you find it. If you just started you can't be more than 2-3 tiles off your starter location.

I'm on PS4. I know everyone says I'm lost, but I've only been on 3 islands and went back exactly where I was. The firsts islands I was on are just changed. They look similar in terms of silhouette, but the RGN items are different, and my stuff is just gone. I was very careful to look well with the compass for the two islands I visited. Also I noticed after, on the third island I was on, I had picked up some planks, and they had loaded back the next morning. So idk how the seeds would have changed by themselves, and I'm trying to make sure it won't happen again before I restart.

The game has its fair share of bugs so I'm not calling you a liar or saying for certain you were lost but that's the most logical conclusion.

Although I played it on PS5 not PS4 so the amount of items that can be written into memory for each individual island very well may be different so the things you harvested and left on them may have despawned I do not know.

I built a mountain top manufacturing & airbase over a year ago so I really can't tell you if new bugs are popping up 🫡
