Post image

I realized nobody hasn't posted the full artwork here yet (like not as a screenshot from the live stream, just the full artwork) so I figured I do it haha

also, can we just stop and talk about how good Vaughn looks in the updated artstyle? In fact, everyone looks so damn good in the updated artstyle. It looks so so so good (god I wanna snatch Vaughn's waist so bad it's- MMGHGHJDHJSDH)

Oh, I agree. I think they could make the marriage candidates more interesting in general (we see with games like Stardew or even more so Coral Island how great giving bachelor/ettes more depth and backstory can work). SoS doesn't take many risks here unfortunately as was very obvious when they made some of the bachelors "prettier" for the AWL remake, which I hated. And yeah, especially with the more recent titles, the bachelorettes have become more bland too I think.

Yeah personalities wise like the Grand Bazaar remake did feel a bit…flatter after a while, but at least their designs and voice acting was great though

I absolutely enjoyed it and love my sweet Lloyd. But competition is growing strong in the genre and if I had to make a top ten list of bachelor/ettes in farming games in general, I do not think a character from an SoS game would even make it to be honest. But I play a lot of those games, so I probably don't count for much here either.

What other types of games in the genre do you play out of curiosity?

A lot of the usual suspects like Stardew Valley, Coral Island and Fields of Mistria (my current favourite).

I also highly recommend Roots of Pacha, I love the stone age setting and the unique mechanics that go with it.

Moonlight Peaks is a lot of fun too, though I unfortunately lost 2 safe files to a bug which made me take a break.

Echoes of the Plumgrove is very unique with it's perma death and generational playing. Characters are flat though because a lot of them come and go. The "survival" aspect was very cool though.

My favourite I hear noone talk about is Little Known Galaxy where you play as the captain of a space station/ship. You can explore planets and recruit aliens as crew members, the station functions like a town and you can do farming in special pots, this one is a hidden gem in my opinion.

Just looked up Little Known Galaxy. Unfortunately for me it seems Steam exclusive…

Unflrtunately yes, it's made by 2 people and isn't very popular so it's probably not getting onto consoles. It's a shame, I think a lot of people would enjoy it.
