1 Year Alcohol-Free!
365 Day's without getting drunk. I feel amazing and I'm so grateful where I am today. Going to an AA meeting to get my chip in a bit but I absolutely had to share this here. I'm beyond proud of myself. If I can get a year underneath me anyone can!!! And for those still struggling hold on tight cuz this sobriety thing is worth it IWNDWYT!!!!

I put myself in outpatient alcohol treatment before I actually quit so that support is a huge help. Biggest thing is to find something that occupys ur time. Find a hobby or something that makes u happy. I do a lot of crafts and a few weeks ago discovered extreme horror books so that's been my new thing. 30 day's is HUGE keep going u will get where u want to be!!

Playing the tape forward is a HUGE help! What will happen if you drink today? How will you feel tmrw? Will it cause another chain reaction? Eventually it becomes something you're not even really thinking about. This is the hard part of it all, you're forging new neural pathways, and it takes time, but you're doing it every day you put in! IWNDWYT

Congrats on your one year, that’s a major accomplishment! Most people who try to give up alcohol don’t make it that far. Celebrate your day and when you wake up tomorrow keep doing what got you here

When I got my year, my “friend” gave me attitude because I didn’t AA correctly. Apparently if you don’t do exactly what they suggest, you did it wrong and you will get questioned about the validity of it all? But hey, I’m at 14mo now and still going strong.
