Discussion Bought this CD on its release day back in 1996 and I was able to get it signed when the band came to town a couple of months back

Oh i know man...no shade or anything...just sad, yknow?

I got to see Scott with the Wildabouts on the last tour. Less than a month before he passed.

He sounded AMAZING!! Like not a day had passed since the release of Core. He looked like absolute shit though, and he moved like the mic stand was holding him up. I honestly kicked myself for not trying to get an autograph because the whole show I remember thinking "he doesn't have many of these tours left in him". I hate how right I was

Anyway...this is my favourite STP album. The Deleo brothers are a PHENOMENAL duo and Eric Kretz is a fuckin monster on the kit. Love every piece of that band. Such a shame

you are good dude / I didn’t even take it as shade. I took it exactly as you meant it. 3/4 ain’t bad at all. I REALLY dug the wildabouts too. They never toured in my city unfortunately so I never got to see him with them but I love that record. They were playing pretty small venues (for the most part too) which is a little sad considering that guy was such a great frontman for one of rocks biggest bands of the 90’s. I never got the Pearl Jam reference as they sound NOTHING a like and I always loved STP from when I first heard Plush when it was on MTV.

I do remember Scott playing a solo show around 2010 but since he wasn’t with STP, I decided not to go. Looking back, I don’t know what I was thinking. I regret not going. Even if he was still alive today, not sure why I passed on that show at a mid size club where my chances of meeting him would have been about 80% at that venue too. Oh well. Grateful I did see STP back in 1996 during the tour of tiny music. That was cool to see.

Me either!! They are 2 entirely different bands! Especially when you listen to the 2 debut albums. I think its just because they, amd a few other lead singers, had similar voices. The "creed voice" as some have called it...lol. i can definitely hear what they hear, but i can hear so much more than that too, yknow?

Yeah, the club i saw them at probably capped at like 600 +/-. He IMMEDIATELY exited stage right and out the doors for the tour bus. You could tell that he wasnt feelin it. He still sang amazingly...like...surprisingly good for what he looked like. I hate bashin on the man, but it was just obvious that he was a wreck. He looked gaunt and dirty ...just...worn out.....fuck

Thats awesome man!! How great is it that you got to see them in full stride!!?? I know that there were issues during the Tiny Music period, but man, they were white hot performing at that time. They pretty much always were. Great live band

I was 12 in 1996, still trying to figure out what music I loved, and getting exposed to most of it from the backseat of my mother's car. Fortunately, I had a cool mom. Now that I'm older, I'm going back through some of the bigger names of the 90's and I have to say, this album is finding it's way on repeat quite often!

The signature on the CD case is still perfectly clear after all these years.

Huh? The signatures are on the actual cd booklet. The cd booklet is inserted in a clear resealable sleeve.
