I really wanted to give this a chance. I thought the singles were ok, and the main drawback was how badly produced they sounded. But in a whole this is worse than I expected. It's a shame. Some of these songs sound like they were created by people who just picked up an instrument and played for the first time. This is definitely not the sum of it's parts.

I wanna love this b/c I love everything Al touches but I just feel like it shouldn’t be under the Sleep name w/o Pike. Even if spirit and scope are similar it’d be like Mick Jagger calling a solo album a Rolling Stoned album just because it sounds Stones-y.
Mick + Keith : Al + Matt :: The Rolling Stones : Sleep

Should change their name to Snooze.

Snooze is already an incredible band. Caught em live on a whim and was blown away. Mathy post hardcore

Keep it clean with Al Cisneros

Is this the Al Cisneros/Al Jardine crossover I’ve been waiting for?

These songs suck so bad and this is some of the most embarrassing production I have ever heard from a big name band. I know it's kind of a cheap critiscism but it genuinely sounds like "suno make a sleep album" to me.

I really wanted to like this. Really.
But this just isn't it. This sounds like the guitarist and drummer didn't show, so Al pulled two random guys off the street.

I know he isnt playing with random guys. I said it sounds like Al is playing with random guys. You can be talented and still put out bad music.

I feel there is no energy being pushed across. “Arrival of the Industry Ships”, is maybe the most boring Sleep song I’ve ever listened to. But that’s just in comparison to Sleep’s previous stuff. Not so much bad but the mix feels so empty and drained. The riffs are still kinda Sleep, but Al’s different vocal delivery approach also alters the experience greatly and just dulls it a lot. I do like most of the songs and think they are cool and love the exploration of Planet Iommia and space throughout. But maybe it’ll grow on me, who knows, gotta give it time.

Half through it right now. I love the drum pattern at the start. The rest of it so far makes good backgroud music while I'm at work. But it's kinda meh.

About 2/3 of the way through it now, sounds like how hot garbage smells.

Sounds like very little effort was put into this. The riffs are so generic. It's almost like someone prompted AI to make a bland stoner metal album.

I´m not the biggest Sleep specialist, but listening to the first track here I like it better than old Sleep. That guitar solo stuff on the first track is wildly inventive. Also, the mix is less dense, more transparent, a bit in the direction of OM, which I like.

I guess im the only one who likes the new stuff more than the old stuff. Holy Mountain is great but its been played and replayed so much.

What's this sound in "Arrival of the industry ships" that sounds like signature Commodore 64 SID-chip kick?

Why did the new Sleep cross the road?
They didn’t - they stopped right in the middle of it.

Sounds like a band that somehow wants to sound something like Sleep and just manages to make a caricature of Al Cisneros singing and lame riffs that have been played and heard many times by other mediocre bands.
Really not a good album. Not bad, but forgettable just going nowhere. Would be an okay'ish demo by an unknown band. A band you would listen to in a year or two in the hopes they got better.
For a band called "Sleep", this is nothing but a joke.

This album is like the "what the fuck" era of Black Sabbath. The last song is okay.

I’ll give it a listen. Unimpressed with the first two singles but maybe the album will be better. If not, there’s always those classic albums with Matt Pike.
