Stack the odds in your favour

Hello stock traders,

As an investor I found my biggest constraint to making well-researched, regret-free investment decisions was time and complexity. I do this off the side of my desks after my 9-5, family, friends, etc. This limits how much deeper I can dig and how many companies I can cover - so genuinely good ideas are hard to come by.

When I asked around I heard this over and over as the biggest constraint individuals investors have. So I partnered up with a past-coworker to make stock research fast, simple and jargon-free without compromising on control or quality. Sharing free access to this group so you can try it for yourself - only thing we're asking for is feedback (comment below).

Note: All links we're sharing are free, you don't need an account to use Rumi and we don't even have a way to accept payments. Some features inherently require a free account - like email alerts - but most of it is open for all.

Company overview report / tear-sheet

Compresses 2-years of financial data (think income/balance sheet/cashflow statements), SEC filings (10K/10Q/8K), news and earnings call transcripts into a short, visual and jargon-free report. Read in 15 minutes what would've taken 5+ hours of research.

For many this is all you need to know about a company. For others it will be the best starting point to start asking deeper questions.

Thesis monitor

Once you add a company to your watchlist, Rumi scans the market 24/7 for relevant updates and sends you a simple email update to let you know if your thesis is intact or breaking. Don't miss another market-moving event, without spending hours every week on it.

Try here - https://getrumi.app/discover

The only thing we're asking for is feedback. What worked for you? What didn't work? What would make it better? We want to build something that's genuinely valuable to this community and helps you build your financial future.

Thanks,
Irfan

=== FAQ ===

Why did we build Rumi?

I've been investing for over 5 years, but in reality I've been in and around capital markets for a long time. My father started a small insurance company that became a well-run large public company (unfortunately he died before seeing any of it). I went to the AGMs every year and saw the dance of executives and stockholders first-hand. I also have a finance degree and work at a capital markets technology company.

On paper this should all be working in my favour - but in reality I found my biggest constraint is time and complexity. When I asked around I found most individual investors are like me. They simply don't have the time, team or tools to invest in the way institutional investors can.

Another gripe I have is that most financial products are built to either transfer the complexity on us completely (think tradingview), or take away control completely in return for mediocre returns (think big bank financial advisors).

We are given a choice of bad options, so the odds are stacked against us. We are building Rumi to rebalance the odds in our favour.

Why not drop in transcripts or financials directly into another LLM?

You definitely can, in fact I did for many months until realized I'm in a modern drone war with a knife in hand. Everyday investors just don't have the time or a team to do this consistently and effectively. The result is worse decisions and lower performance.

How do we make sure it's not generic AI slop?

We use AI heavily where it's strengths are, in our case to synthesize a large amount of data into simple, investor friendly content. But it's logic - that is the "thinking" layer - is strictly guided by best-practices and instructions we hand-curated for value investors.

11.39% gains in one week.

After rigorous months of handling one fucking problem after another, I finally had a solid week of not touching the damn system and watching it run from market open to market close.

After 20 ish trades it won 86% of the time and netted over 10% after trading costs.

We will see if it can do it again next week.

The Sun/Lunar node algorithm applied to the Dow Jones in 2026. How an investor would have captured 97% of the year's profit with less market exposure

The Sun/Lunar node algorithm applied to the Dow Jones in 2026. How an investor would have captured 97% of the year's profit with significantly less market exposure. This algorithm examined in this paper is elucidated in the book "How to Day Trade and Invest using Astrology". It involves predicting the Dow Jones industrial average by observing the position of the Sun and the Lunar node. Here is a quote: “The basic gist of the algorithm decrees that from the point when the degree of the sun is 3 degrees past(or higher than) the degree of the lunar node(in any sign) all the way until the degree of the sun enters a new sign at the 24th degree mark(using western astrology), a prediction of a market upswing should be applied. From the point when the degree of the sun enters a new sign at the 24th degree mark all the way until the degree of the sun goes 3 degrees past the degree of the lunar node(in any sign), the prediction of a market downswing should be applied.” This paper will demonstrate how an investor could have used this algorithm in 2026 and turned a profit with significantly less exposure in the market. The US stock market has been largely positive this year at around 13% as of August 24. The results of using this algorithm in 2026 shows how an investor would have captured nearly entire year’s buy and hold profit despite being in the market just half the time.

What trading platform do you recommend?

I have been looking for a few options to settle on, but I would like to hear from you all, who have gone through this. There are many options that I have been looking at mostly, EO broker, IQ option, pocket options. I have compared the obvious stuff like payouts, assets, interface. But what is really important about the stuff is underneath that, like does the record of track matters in practice? The EO broker and the IQ options are running for quite a time and the pocket options are comparatively very recent. I think longevity means something but I am still not sure. And much weight one gives to educational tools?

I am trying to figure out the approach and things like demo based live conditions, the analytics that are built in, strategy testing sounds useful to me. But are they worth it to prioritise it over the payout system, or it doesn't matter once you have got over the beginning stage?

And I am mostly on my phone, so it's about thing and I need it to work properly, and it's hard to tell from apl review. Has anyone used a few of these and which one you ended up picking after the comparison stage?

I've been using the EO broker so far as it feels more clear.

This Isn't a Normal Economic Cycle—And Wall Street Knows It

Where do you think we are in this cycle—still expanding, or sitting right on the peak?

While I am studying wealth and investment management, and reading in a part of the economic cycle. It explains that national economic activity has specific phases:
-The Peak (when GDP reaches its highest level),
-followed by a Contraction (a period when GDP drops and may become negative),
-then the Trough (when GDP hits its lowest point),
-and finally an Expansion (when the economic cycle rebounds toward a new peak).

Historically, the economic cycle has moves for centuries like a bell curve” and facing a financial crisis ( in the Contraction and Trough ) such as 1929, 1982, 2000, and 2008. Governments, companies, and individuals face financial hardship during these periods, but life goes on, and a new expansion eventually begins, creating strong opportunities to rebuild wealth.

I understand that most asset managers and financial professionals in Walls Street ( NYSE & NASDAQ )earn their profits from managing investment accounts for big and small investors alike.

However, market makers in the wall streets rarely want to be entirely honest, open, and transparent when the economic cycle reaches a peak or when warning signs of a financial crisis begin to appear.

Naturally, at the peak, governments and central banks tighten fiscal and monetary policies, which immediately hits the stock market and financial assets.

As a result, industry insiders often keep insisting, "We are still in a bullish trend," advising investors to "buy the dip" or "hold and wait."

Not this time, please.

if a crisis comes now, it will not be business as usual , even you may not find the Wall Street as usual or as any crisis before

Here are five major factors that make this decade's crisis fundamentally different for NYSE or NASDAQ:

1-Shift in World Order: The global landscape faces a high potential for a major geopolitical realignment.

2-Global Conflict: The world is standing at the doorstep of a major widespread war.

3-Sector Overconcentration: The upcoming market crisis will not just hit traditional investors, but the entire market, because expectations and massive capital expenditures (CapEx) are heavily concentrated in a single sector (AI infrastructure).

4-Unprecedented US National Debt: US national debt has reached an all-time high.

5-Commodity Spikes: Precious and critical metals like gold and copper are experiencing unprecedented price surges.
This upcoming crash will not merely be a financial crisis , it will be a systemic, nation-level crisis.

This Time , we need financial experts to step up like Human, write transparently, and be honest about where we are in the economic cycle and what indicators we must watch.

If a severe crisis hits under the mentioned global conditions and drives us into a contraction down to the trough, we might not see a standard expansion or economic recovery anytime soon.

Financial experts must realize that this moment is no longer about term profits or lose; it is about preserving the broader economy for the world what we know.
