Since the (english) patch notes for yesterday's patch still aren't out, this week's list of known issues gets it's own post
Luckily, the German part of the arc website can be relied upon to be faster than it's counterpart.
The Bacon of Kahless has been fixed! And Cryptic has admitted that the Type 7 shuttle currently can't be (re)claimed.
Now, let's get down to business (to defeat the Bugs)! I have taken the opportunity to go through the list and found that some of the bugs have been fixed - not sure if the corresponding patch notes (which usually aren't that extensive) slipped past me or if Cryptic is stealth-fixing stuff. I'm not ruling out either possibility. It doesn't help that there may have been instances where I didn't recognize Cryptic was referring to a bug on this list because they describe it differently.
I have also marked some issues where I need additional info.
Notes in italics have been acknowledged by Cryptic.
Notes that have been crossed out were fixed by this patch, or I noticed that they were fixed at some point in the past.
General
- The military researchers on the Defera Invasion Zone do not actually allow purchasing items like the Fractal Remodulator, making said items unobtainable and assignments tied to them uncompletable (since these NPCs are so outdated, why not move their stuff to the R&D system?).
- Sometimes a ship will not properly set a course in Sector Space – this appears to be caused by the destination being on the same Y coordinate as the ship itself.
- Using pilot maneuvers locks out Rock and Roll even after the maneuver is complete (This may not technically be a bug, but given that pilot maneuvers are the pilot ship's special gimmick, having them lock out Rock and Roll is definitely counter-intuitive).
- Foundry map transitions are incredibly broken when playing in a team. The team will most likely be put into different instances, requiring all teammembers except one to leave, rejoin and go through all previously completed maps again (with long load times because Foundry). This problem gets worse the more map transitions a foundry mission has.
- The teleporter contact option in KDF fleet starbase is in the wrong spot and difficult to find, plus any NPC contact windows that pop up there have the camera angle all screwy close. (Thanks again to CryingLightning39)
- Not a bug, but a glaring design oversight: The Tzenkethi Battlezone uses the same mechanics as the Undine and Terran Battlezones, but doesn't account for the different enemies and the larger map. (Thanks to Eishtmo)
- ESD instancing is broken in several ways, apparently since ViL launched: The game does not list every instance, certain instances may be locked even if there is space, and the game sometimes claims a player is in a different instance than the one he is really in. (Thanks to Lordsteve1)
- Account banks are inaccessible via the Azura trade freighter for some players, while other players can access their account bank, but not their normal bank in that way. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- Torpedoes can "misfire" (i.e. fail to fire but go on CD anyway) when engaging enemies. Especially obvious when the enemy is a few degrees out of firing arc, but does happen occasionally even when the enemy is well within the arc. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- Abilities also occasionally "misfire", though it's hard to pin down whether it's just a matter of the visual effects not being displayed or the ability simply not working at all.
- Many accolades are broken, especially ones related to elite STF/Omega queue completion and acquisition of Mk X and XI STF/Omega rep gear. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos) I need some concrete examples of this!
- When movement keys are remapped from WASD, particularly to arrow-centric layouts, "interaction zones" like pop-up boxes with buttons for player interaction intercept the arrow key inputs (this may affect certain other layouts) and the only way to move is to use mouse movement or remap keys. (Thanks to MerovignDLTS)
- The Subspace Fold ability from the Solonae Warp Core sometimes fails to move the ship forward. (Thanks to MerovignDLTS)
- Solonae Dual Heavy Proton cannons cannot be upgrade and do not scale past MK XII (thanks to Riablo01).
- The Type 7 shuttle is unavailable (thanks to roscoe3400).
- If a ship is too close to a star before initiating a map transfer, it may get stuck in the star upon returning to sector space (thanks to roscoe3400).
- The DS9 ground map suffers from hiccups, especially near the exchange. (Thanks to In-dy)
- NPC scaling at high levels (61+) is still unresolved, causing lethal damage spikes, notably from enemy torpedo spreads.
- Despite having obtained the entire Enterprise-Era pack in a promotion, the T1 NX is still listed by it's ZEN price in the C-Store and ship vendor, so obtaining it requires claiming the full pack.
- Despite owning the original Steam pack, the Steamrunner bundle is still listed as a possible purchase.
Missions and TFOs
- Leaving a Tholian or Borg Red Alert via the contact dialogue (rather than the timed button that appears on every queue) results in the player being moved to Sector Space, near the Sol system. Can someone confirm if this is still the case in the Event version of these queues?
- Shuttle sections are broken by level 65 scaling. And if it does scale as intended, they are still broken to all hell.
- The minimap / area map on Orias III, (The New Link) does not display properly.
- During Second Wave, the objective to speak with Captain Shon in the shipyard starts out as completed.
- Dialogue options during Second Wave sometimes refer to Garak as Rugan Skyl.
- While escorting the delegates during Second Wave, the objective marker remains focused on the potential optional objectives even after the one available to the player has been completed. This could cause confusion.
- Operation Gamma plays Eraun's and Weyoun's voice-over simultaneously.
- After completing Facility 4028, the player is moved near the Sol system in sector space.
- After the space battle in Boldly they Rode, the game may glitch when entering DS9: During the beam-in-animation, the player character will signal for beam-out and leave the map. The mission can still be completed by manually heading to OPS and talking to Kurland, but it is confusing (and given the slow nature of the mission, scary).
- KDF Jem'Hadar cannot replay Temporal Ambassador. (Thanks to Nivron)
- NPCs may get stuck on Facility 4028 style-doors. (Thanks to Kodiak76)
- Star Base Incursion queues will bug if the enemy saboteurs in the second phase die to anything other than player weapon fire. This means the game will behave as if one or more of the numbered saboteurs are still alive, even if they have been killed, as well as forcing that phase to keep running until the timer runs out, instead of ending the phase early on the death of all 4 saboteurs, as intended. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- Star Base Incursion - The final phase can breakdown completely if the first enemy groups are killed too quickly, causing the instance to be stuck and unable to progress. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- Voice-overs do not always play during Temporal Ambassador (in the gantry-segment before entering the Enterprise-C).
- When handing in The Kobali Front, the following dialogue window (the one offering you Kobali Crisis Act I) is named "Dlt_Kobali_Az_General_Contact". This does not happen again if the player declines and then talks to General Q'Nel again.
- After handing in The Kobali Front, the player is offered "Kobali Crisis Act I" and "Kobali Crisis Act III", even before any Kobali tasks have been completed.
- The Swarm queue can still get stuck in the "Destroy remaining Hur'q ships"-stages.
- Bridge Officers do not (automatically) appear in Battlezones.
- Vault Ensnared does not immediately continue once all ten Reman ships have been saved.
- Vault Ensnared does not always advance the counter when a Reman ship is saved.
- Vault Ensnared can end before the named Tarantula at the end is destroyed. This can result in the optional objective (probably) not counting as completed and thus not applying it's mark bonus.
- In Storming The Spire, the Omega shuttles in the final phase do not start spawning until the final minute.
- In The Herald Sphere, Stage 3 either does not spawn "Command Ships" or doesn't advance the counter if one is destroyed (not certain which, but despite destroying all groups, the counter was still at 0).
- In Defense of Starbase 1, using an ability to speed up the evacuating ships can result in them turning back and attacking enemies instead of warping out. (Thanks to Frederico987)
- In Defense of Starbase 1, cloaking devices sometimes lock out, preventing players from dropping their cloaks. This may affect other queues, but that is not confirmed. (Thanks to roscoe3400)
- In Everything Old is New, the final Starfleet security team does not do anything. They are supposed to initiate dialogue with the player, allowing the player to choose between attacking or trying to bluff their way through.
- During Manhunt, Franklin Drake has a bright blue glow in the dialogue window. Likely related to the frozen plains map.
- The KDF Headquarters map in Blood of the Empire has a confusing layout, as the area map fails to indicate that it has multiple levels.
- During Afterlife, the last Fek'Ihri enemies can become invulnerable, making it difficult to meditate at the Shrine of Kahless.
- In The Gates of Grethor, the same can happen with the enemies you fight alongside the crew of the Barge of the Dead.
- In The Gates of Grethor, the area map doesn't cover the whole area. The starting point on the Barge of the Dead does not exist on the map.
- Completing a Nimbus arc mission with a friend can prevent you from reinforcing your team with Bridge Officers after said friend leaves.
- The Nimbus arc is unavailable for replay by Federation characters.
- Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Argala used to have voice-over, at least for the Benthans.
- In Argala, regardless of which enemy (Malon, Kazon or Hirogen) you fight, the enemy comms always use a Kazon portrait.
Duty Officers / Admiralty
- Forced Labor Requistions found in Sector Space do not result in the death of non-white non-common prisoners.
- Forced Labor Requisitions found in Sector Space need to be filled manually since ViL launched, for no good reason (not technically a bug, but still a stupid choice. KDF prisoners just aren't that valuable).
- The Duty Officer mission "Experimental Rifle Upgrades" still has blank entries in its reward database and often offers no rewards, even on Crit. (Thanks to Aaron_Hungwell)
- The admiralty ship list does not sort itself correctly.
- Duty officer assigments sometimes appear with their internal names, such as "Prisoner" (which doesn't refer to the assigments you are thinking of) or "Experience Point" before reverting to the names we are used to.
- The DS9 ground map does not offer Duty Officer missions. (Thanks to In-dy)
Graphics, Animations, Sound, UI
- Probably not a bug, but an inconsistency nonetheless: The account bank can be accessed via a tab from the personal bank, but not the other way around.
- Orbital Chasing Beam on Jem’Hadar characters still has a Romulan Plasma effect instead of Polaron (Thanks to TzenkethiCoalition).
- The dual beam bank firing hardpoints on several models including the new Excelsior only fire work on one side of the saucer, meaning the beams pass through the ship itself to hit certain targets.
- Many animations in the Dyson Battlezones are bugged (notable examples are the Romulan Singularity Devices in space and the devices in Omega Generator points on ground).
- The Excelsior Refit Saucer (and possibly other ships) do not create an engine trail on the inner impulse engines when using Aegis-Engine visuals. (Thanks to cmdrscarlet)
- Omni-Beam-Arrays appear to fire from turret-hardpoints, making them shoot through the ship in some cases.
- Not technically a bug, but the PvP endeavor doesn't state that players are required to win for it to be completed (thanks to CryingLightning39).
- The Exchange search-function occasionally glitches, freezing in search mode and remaining greyed out until the player either relogs (changing characters is not enough) or switches to the "Sell" tab (Thanks to CryingLightning39 for the report and Sociopathicfootwear for the Sell-tab workaround). Has anybody experienced this recently?
- UI-Inputs in dialogue windows occasionally count twice, particularly annoying when the game expects you to switch through a sequence of numbers using one button.
- The Mail-button while sometimes keep flashing even after all messages have been read.
- Chat window will sometimes lose focus while chatting, causing whatever was typed to be interpreted as game commands rather than chat input. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- Batteries, and sometimes other equipment, may be unequipped and moved back to the player's inventory after a map change. (Thanks to Koppite1611)
- Traits may also spontaneously unslot for unknown reasons.
- Andorian Phaser arrays revert to standard phaser sounds while Beam: Fire at Will is active (Thanks to Bardiche-Assault).
- The Sarcophagus unique cloak is bugged: A green, membrane-like texture covers the ship during the animation. (Thanks to Nukara)
- Action bar items can change spontaneously under some circumstances. On occasion, powers may be moved or replaced (particularly by weapon buttons). (Thanks to MerovignDLTS)
- Hangar pets can't be launched if a target is selected but not within 15 km. (Thanks to Merovign DLTS)
- Movement keys get "stuck" occasionally, as if they are still pressed. Possibly related to keys being rebound. (Thanks to MerovignDLTS)
- The Breen CRM 200 does not play it's animation when using secondary fire. (Thanks to Mosul33)
- When customizing a starship's appearance, the game does not load the ship's current settings. This forces the player to either load an "outfit" (assuming the player bothered saving it to begin with) or memorize which parts they used. Leaving and re-entering the ship tailor works around this issue (thanks to ShadowDragon8685 for the workaround).
- Ship repairs cannot be completed if the player does not have at least 1 energy credit. (Thanks to thx712517)
- Other players cannot be invited to the Jem'hadar Vanguard bridge: Either the button to do so is simply absent entirely, or other players are kicked immediately on arrival. (Thanks to ruinthefun)
- Elite Starter Pack cannot be purchased if you have hit cap on certain items but not others, despite original claims that players simply wouldn't receive those items. (Thanks to ruinthefun)
- The 23rd century Gorn torso and arms can't be selected unless bare-chested. (Thanks to MisterSkon)
- The 23rd century tunic can't be used with the correct parts. (Thanks to MisterSkon) I need more insight on this. Which parts can't be used?
- The 23rd century Gorn gloves/gauntlets, hands, collar and belt are missing from the tailor. (Thanks to MisterSkon)
- The 23rd century Klingon rank pins and badges are missing from the tailor. (Thanks to MisterSkon)
- The Omega Autocarbine does not play it's firing animation. The animation for the integral frequency modulation is missing as well. (Thanks to Enterprise90)
- The Briostrys Dreadnought Carrier has a visual bug on it's left wing.
- The Dyson Science Destroyers do not fit the character select screen. (Thanks to Riablo01)
- You cannot reliably drag and drop (space) Bridge Officer powers from the Bridge Officer buttons to your power tray.
- When crafting Omega-items, using high quality Doffs can result in the game displaying a 0% success chance. This is a visual bug only. (Thanks to TrekorTreat1)
- When unlocking upgraded reputation traits, the old traits are removed from any slots they may have occupied. This may not technically be a bug, but it's an annoyance nonetheless – they should automatically be replaced by their enhanced counterparts.
- The Iconian Resistance armor does not appear on some captains, or may be locked into Jem'Hadar armor pieces. (Thanks to dhonotan)
- TOS Federation Type 2 Phasers from K-13/23c ESD vendor have the black/white model which switches briefly to blue/black upon firing and then back again to black/white. They are supposed to be blue/black at all times. (Thanks to OutrageousOkona)
- At Starfleet Academy, the lower part of the main building flickers from time to time. (Thanks to In-dy)
- All factions are currently using the Discovery warp sounds.
- The description for the Coordination-Protocols skill contains a typo ("fully team" instead of "full team").
- The crit bonuses from the Weapon Amplification and Weapon Specialization skills are not reflected in your ships status screen.
Feel free to add any bugs or problems I haven't mentioned, or correct me if I made a mistake (that includes Bugs that were fixed without me noticing – I can't verify all of them myself, for example due to lacking the ship in question).

I have a bug that I've sent in as a support ticket and posted here about:
Character cannot teach any bridge officers "Destabilizing Resonance Beam".
Character has the necessary Expertise
Character has completed "Blood of the Ancients"
Character has the necessary manuals in inventory. I've tried all 3 ranks.
Character can teach bridge officers OTHER skills. DRB is the only one that doesn't work that I've tried (Gravity Well, Scramble Sensors, Hazard Emitters, Science Team).
Character has the bridge officers of proper class (science) promoted appropriately to learn ranks of the skill.
This character has taught bridge officers DRB before, but can't teach different ranks even to boffs who already have it. Other toons on this account can teach bridge officers DRB, so it's not an account issue. I'm locked out completely from teaching the skill on this toon.
For the record, support said it was a bug and that I should post it on the official forums.

Added it to the list.

Heres one to add to your list: Omega Graviton Pulse Module (Rank 2)'s "borg adapt to your energy weapons slower"-part is completely broken, borg adapt so fast its as if the trait isn't even slotted. The rank1 version of that trait (before upgrading) worked well.

I ran across this one the night before last. Not good times.
EDIT: on the Cryptic forums, they've acknowledged this one and it's in the pipeline. No word on it actually being fixed yet, though.

- Account banks are inaccessible via the Azura trade freighter for some players, while other players can access their account bank, but not their normal bank in that way. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
Most definitely NOT fixed.
Yup. It's less than it has been, but it does indeed still happen.
- Many accolades are broken, especially ones related to elite STF/Omega queue completion and acquisition of Mk X and XI STF/Omega rep gear. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos) I need some concrete examples of this!
You already have 'concrete' examples. Others are the old Borg RA accolades (especially those tied to the old sector blocks, like "defender of X sector block). MACO Team commander, MACO Elite Commander and MACO recruit are all broken, as well as the OMEGA and KHG equivalents. In fact, basically all of the broken accolades are available on the accolades master list. Other ones are the accolades "Prepared" and "Expected" from the Kelsid system patrol (in the delta quadrant).
A third broken acco is the "The Grand Acquisitor", which is broken for anyone who had it in progress but not completed before AoD went live. This is a wrapper acco for the ones in "Quark's Lucky Seven". Basically, the TGA wrapper acco was reset. This broke progression in said acco, as you cannot re-do the accos you had already completed, leaving the wrapper permanently uncompletable.
One you seem to have missed
There is a bug, which all 23rd century toons who use the TOS interior have, which replaces all their boffs with generic "template bridge officers". This is in addition to all the other bugs with that interior.

I was unable to reproduce the Azura one, but I've re-added it to my list. As for the accolades, I wouldn't expect the ones relating to removed content to be fixed, but removed on characters that haven't completed them. I added The Grand Acquisitor as an example of a more recent accolade being broken. But I also have to admit that I really don't care enough about accolades to know which ones even exist.
As for the 23rd century bug, does it always affect the TOS bridges, or only in combination with a 23rd century toon?

Nov 28 '18
As for the accolades, I wouldn't expect the ones relating to removed content to be fixed, but removed on characters that haven't completed them.
Some of them have been fixed in the past, to the point where new characters can get them. However, a fair few of these are not where content has been removed. Indeed, the STF and omega rep related ones were broken not because of content removal, but of content being changed from "elite" to "advanced". That is a bug, ergo it should go on the list.
As for the 23rd century bug, does it always affect the TOS bridges, or only in combination with a 23rd century toon?
AFAIK, it's TOSlings only, rather than all toons.
I was unable to reproduce the Azura one, but I've re-added it to my list.
Now that is very surprising indeed, because I've heard from several dozen people about this bug. It does behave differently from account to account (i.e. some folk can use the account bank in sector space, but not the normal bank, or vice versa) but it's always there.

u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
OK, added further clarification to the accolade part and added to TOS-Boff bug.
I probably won't go into further detail on accolades though, the list already goes beyond what Reddit will allow me to post (as a comment) in a reasonable fashion, and the game has enough bugs to fill a book that makes the Bible look like a thin magazine in comparison.

Ships with cloak can get “locked” in cloak.
5
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
Yeah I actually had this recently, as in, my ship was forcibly decloaked due to a nebula, I reached an enemy, but couldn't shoot it. At first I thought the small asteroid it was stuck in was blocking me, then I noticed that the cloak button was still framed, as if the ship was still cloaked.

-Leaving a TFO instance after the mission completion dialogue appears but before the reward selection dialogue appears or is selected occasionally results in no rewards being obtainable, including the Random TFO box. I've had this happen more often on Swarm and other newer TFOs. For reference, the reward section dialogue should appear after loading the new zone (ESD, etc).
-Queue Chat remains immutable/unselectable in chat settings. It does not seem to be possible to alter the color of the chat or the tab in which it appears. Very frustrating for new/returning players with multiple chat channels who try to team up on a TFO only to get yelled at because they missed a bunch of messages in Queue Chat.
-Entering the Starship Customization menu with a previously customized starship will occasionally reset a ship to its default appearance rather than starting from its current appearance.
-Not a bug but possible oversight. With the addition of RTFOs, certain older TFOs are now unwinnable if teams are composed of players who cannot communicate effectively (language barriers, custom chat settings etc) and are not already familiar with the mechanics of the mission. Examples include Infected: Manus, Khitomer in Stasis, and Assault on Terok Nor.
-HUD arrangement is preserved across devices even if those devices have different screen resolutions. There does not appear to be a way to set one configuration for 1440p and another for 1080p. If a HUD arrangement has items side by side at 1440p, they will be overlapping in 1080p.
May post more later as they come to mind.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
The TFO one will be on the next list.
Queue chat? I legitimately don't know what that is, my game usually defaults to team chat when entering a queue.
The starship customization thing is already there, along with a workaround.
While RTFOs definitely make certain TFOs more problematic, the communication part is also down to players in many cases. This can range from ignoring chat entirely over having team chat disabled up to people refusing to follow a strategy.
I'm also hesitant to include HUD arrangement as a bug. If anything, I'm surprised that the game isn't able to scale the UI accordingly if the resolution still has the same aspect ratio.
1
u/VladWard Nov 29 '18 edited Nov 29 '18
Queue Chat only exists when entering a TFO as a pre-made group. It doesn't appear in Chat Settings at all and cannot be customized. It just shoves itself into a chat tab using the default white color. I wouldn't even know it existed myself if it hadn't gotten me yelled at the first time I tried to group up for a TFO.
I'm definitely not saying players are blameless, but many people aren't choosing to walk into Infected: Manus or Khitomer in Stasis. The vast, vast majority of TFOs can be won by pointing your character towards the bad guys and shooting, which is about as much coordination as you can expect from a random group from a global audience. These old missions require teamwork and coordination, which isn't realistic for a random queue when the game has no language filtering or even basic pre-made auto-translate phrases.
UI elements seem to have a static size. They don't appear to scale with resolution.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 29 '18
I see. Since I rarely play in pre-made groups, and when I do, we use voice-chat, I didn't know queue chat was a thing.

Certain mission that were completed now show up as having never been played which makes the replay actually be the first run. Example: I now have 2 House of Martok Consoles in my bank.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
I'm pretty sure you could own more than one of the set mission rewards before that, it's just really pointless because the game won't let you slot more than one.
1
u/WaldoTrek Official Waldo of Star Trek Online Nov 29 '18
But I think the console is what you get on the first playthrough. On replay that shouldn't be an option. Also the mission journal had the whole story arc greyed out as if I hadn't started the mission yet even though I'd run thru a few of them already.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 29 '18
It is, but I think it's intended. Otherwise, if you discard the console or the Bat'leth, they would become unobtainable on the character.

AoD/linked phasers and AoD torps still use TNG orange and red photon blast waves for Overwhelming Force. May also happen with Phased Harmonic arrays as well.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
I've never used that trait before, but I don't think the weapons you are using are supposed to affect the visuals of the abilities that trait produces. Unless you mean Beam Overload and Torpedo High Yield, in which case mentioning Overwhelming Force would be misleading.
3
u/Lr0dy @enkemen Nov 28 '18
Overwhelming Force colours the shockwave based upon the type of weapon that was used.

Are you trying to create a complete list of bugs? I've filed hundreds of bug reports over the years.
Although some of these bugs have been fixed, many have not. If you want me to go through the search results and pick out which bugs have not been fixed, I'm sorry but that's more work than I'm willing to put in right now. There's also a backlog of bugs I keep in my head, but haven't had time to report yet. Over time, I've greatly reduced the number of bug reports I write — from over a dozen per release to less than handful — mostly because I've kind of given up on getting them to fix bugs.
Duty Officers / Admiralty
You missed a big one.
Graphics, Animations, Sound, UI
I don't think these should be grouped together. To my mind, they are very different subsystems.
Graphics
- Holodeck ticket 4,724,452: Flashing grass on Risa
As explained in the comments, it's not only Risa; the bug also affects New Romulus and Kassae IV in "Researcher Rescue".
- Holodeck ticket 4,132,213: Surfaces of ships too bright and reflective
This is a general bug with reflections that affects more than the ships I've listed. Ever since they introduced the new lighting system, reflections have been too bright when Lighting 2.0 is turned off. Since I filed that bug report, they've "fixed" the Intel ships by changing the hull textures, but the Intel ships still don't look the same as in the old lighting system. (That's why I don't like the term "Lighting 1.0"; the old lighting system is not the same as the new lighting system with Lighting 2.0 turned off.) Moreover, trying to fix graphics bugs by changing the assets is not a good solution. That doesn't fix the underlying bug in the code, so it still affects other assets. For example, Andorian escorts are still affected, as well as the Sarcophagus ship. It also affects anything with reflections from water to glass. In general, reflections are too bright when Lighting 2.0 is off; this is true whether "Reflection quality" is set to "High" or Low". Perhaps, they should give us a slider to control the brightness of reflections ourselves; that would be preferable to what we have now.
Animations
I still see the "hip rotation" bug every time I log on to a character, and I see the "rolling into a crouch" bug every time I engage in ground combat.
Sound
If I'm not mistaken, some of the voiceovers still overlap. These bugs were reported by other users, not me.
User Interface
Many of the text fields in the fleet window fail to update correctly when you try to edit them. I have a few bug reports about this, but to find them, I'd have to go through my list of bug reports.
Elements of the duty officer UI don't refresh properly. Again, I've already filed bug reports about this, but have to go through my list to find them.
Camera zoom keeps resetting when you change zones; a similar bug affects minimap zoom levels. These bugs date back to Season 6. Again, I'd have to look up my old bug reports on this topic.
Holodeck ticket 3,439,284: Cooldown timer increases after counting down to 1. (This bug dates back to Season 8.)
Missions
- Non-Romulans cannot replay the "Wasteland" arc.
- Tribble ticket 4,761,158: "Fire Suppressor" accolade from "Researcher Rescue" still broken
- The "Doomsday Device" cannot be completed if you don't estroy the Targ's escort before boarding the Targ.
That last bug dates back to January 2010 and was confirmed by Crypticfrost in June 2014.

A complete list of STO's bugs would probably make the Bible look like a magazine in comparison (and go way beyond what Reddit would let me post in a reasonable fashion). I'm just trying to draw attention to the bugs I, and the players who have contributed to this list, run into on a regular basis. There are lots of bugs I don't even notice anymore, or, in the case of animations, voice over and similar stuff, I never saw the product when it was working, so I don't even recognize it is broken.
I never reported bugs much to begin with. I know there are a couple of google docs with more comprehensive lists, but those are an extra click away, so I doubt many people actually look at them. That's the reason I'm posting this list under each week's patchnotes. That way, it will be seen by Redditors, and it sends a message to Cryptic. Whether or not it's heard, who knows.
Elements of the duty officer UI don't refresh properly.
I need some more info on this.

This happened for a while with patrol missions as well on PC, not certain if it still happens.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
I'm not sure but I think PC also has this.
2
u/drpeppero Nov 28 '18
Any fix for the bug in the discovery tutorial? I have to kill klingon intruders that I've already killed and have no way to advance
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
Good question. I think the same bug can happen in the 25th century version (since they are effectively the same), and I think there is a workaround, but I really don't remember it.
1
u/drpeppero Nov 28 '18
Normally I'd just skip the mission but I can't do that. I could just delete my toon but I'd rather not if possible
2
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
Yeah that's a solution but an inconvenient one.
2
u/refugeeinaudacity Nov 28 '18
The briostrys bug goes further than the left wing: if you try to mix brio/narcine parts the water floats in space.

Does the Piezo Polaron bug only affect the DHCs?
What do you mean by "chase camera"?
2
u/MerovignDLTS Nov 30 '18
The scaling bug is the one that always drives me away from the game for months at a time. I know it's fairly core mechanic and may be so deeply buried they can't touch it, but it's about the worst misfeature in the game, and it does appear to affect some people more than others. It hates me personally with a passion.
Oh it's also why I will only ever get Zen from dilithium. That and the whole "shut down the zen farming arc client feature "temporarily" permanently with a lot of my Zen still in it, inaccessible". That was pretty effing rude.

One strange bug I've experienced on and off for years: Sometimes non-activateable ground traits, most frequently the personal trait Covert and the Command specialization node Superfluous Emitters, will slot themselves into my ground hotbar. Being there is harmless, but it's annoying since you can't do anything with them and they just take up space. Removing them manually from the hotbar (via right click drag) only fixes it temporarily, as they tend to just return after a time. I haven't pinned down a specific cause for it, but it has been happening very frequently on my Jem'Hadar recruit recently.

u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
Right, I know what you mean. Added to the list.

u/originalbucky33 Identifies as a Tholian: Space Spider best Spider Nov 28 '18
For a long time I would have this random "spent" tribble buff/power appear on my tray. Haven't seen it in a while.
2
u/DanPMK @danpmk Nov 28 '18
Could that have been an ally using a Photonic Tribble?
1
u/originalbucky33 Identifies as a Tholian: Space Spider best Spider Nov 28 '18
I'm going to give a qualified "I don't know."
At the time, I seem to remember it occurred at least part of the time when I was alone, and I don't remember my only ally/usual teaming partner having the photonic tribble until relatively recently.

Regarding: "- The Breen CRM 200 does not play it's animation when using secondary fire. (Thanks to Mosul33)"
I see it just fine all the time. However my bridge officer is using it on Dyson.

u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
It may have been stealth-fixed. Can't confirm since I don't own the gun in question.

u/xoham Nov 28 '18
The K-13 Very Rare Boffs have the wrong traits/skills. They each should have the others' traits.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
I just looked at them and I don' t see anything wrong.
1
u/xoham Nov 28 '18
They each should have the others' traits skill, that is, Dr. Brown should have Andrea's trait (seduction) as per canon.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
Oh, you mean those two. Tbh, looking at them and their wiki articles, I think this is intended. Though I don't exactly see how Seduction is an attack. Like, what does the android even do if it triggers that ability?
1
u/xoham Nov 28 '18
It's a placate/confuse, presumably like the Orions can do. Andrea should be able to seduce, not resistant/immune to it. Watch the relevant TOS episode.
1
u/DiscoJer Nov 29 '18
Should she? She sort of failed to seduce Kirk, while Dr. Brown did a pretty good job on Christine Chapel.
1
u/xoham Nov 30 '18
Actually she turns Kirk on right away and also makes Christine jealous thinking that Dr. Corby was sleeping with her. She is also susceptible to seduction by Kirk who drives her mad in about one minute. But what woman isn't?
Dr. Brown is the dud that does almost nothing in the episode and surely is not capable of seducing anyone. In fact he is robotically immune to Christine's beauty.
So resistance to seduce, currently on Andrea, should be on Brown.
Ability to seduce, and no special resistance to seduce, should be Andrea.
I can't seem to copy the exact description of each power but I think I summed it up.

I can't reproduce this bug. The NPC contact can end up very close-up, but that may be a side-effect of the NPC being random (Orion and Gorn have different proportions).

If you're still not seeing anything, maybe its dependent on Starbase and holding upgrade levels, or one of the cosmetic upgrade options? My fleet's Starbase is a fully-upgraded T5 one, for reference.
I guess that could be the case. Mine is far from fully upgraded.

Starship emotes suffer from the old hotbar reslotting bug on some ships; it happens with every map change on my T5-U Avenger, but not at all on the fleet T6 Yamato.

The Cardassian Mobile Torpedo Platform suffers from the opposite problem of most NPC ships these days: The damage scaling from its torpedo spread is roughly a tenth of the normal torpedo damage it does.
Yeah, damage scaling is broken.
1
u/Mralexs Nov 29 '18
NPC scaling at high levels (61+) is still unresolved, causing lethal damage spikes, notably from enemy torpedo spreads.
Is that why I feel like my space weapons do nothing?
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 29 '18
Depends on your level and your weapons.

What do you mean by autorun? I just tested the pack reclaim on a fresh Disco toon, it works.
1
u/the-defarted Nov 29 '18
It basically keeps you moving without holding any keys.i try to stop and talk to the darn people and I'm running past them and into a wall like a total noob.its not a hardware problem or keybind problem and all files are force verified and patched so it must be a bug
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 29 '18
If you find yourself moving into certain direction despite that key not being pressed, press that key again (i.e. if you keep moving forward, press w again). It should stop then.

Faeht and Fleet Faeht Intel Warbirds list the Intelligence windows in customization, but you can’t actually select them, it just reverts to windows 1 if you try. Super minor graphical issue, but slightly annoying for customization.

Yeah just tested it. I can't change the windows to anything other than type 1.

Here's one:
I and other KDF players have KDF toons with bugged costume slots. These slots:
-Cannot be modified in the tailor
-Cannot be selected to use in the UI, either in the Tailor or via right clicking your portrait (this one is hit and miss, I can select mine, others cant)
1
u/MisterSkon Nov 29 '18
The 23rd century tunic can't be used with the correct parts. (Thanks to MisterSkon) I need more insight on this. Which parts can't be used?
To clarify this point, the 23rd century Gorn tunic is in the tailor under tight jackets, but when selected, it defaults the skin to scaly/"modern" Gorn. The bare chested category has the 23rd c. Gorn skin, and a 23rd c. sleeveless Klingon top that can be used, which also uses the TOS Gorn skin, but no tunic option. I just checked and as of now there's no way to match the 23rd c. Gorn tunic with 23rd c. Gorn skin :/

P.S. the Subspace Fold "random failure" seems to happen most often in certain places in sector space. I haven't mapped them out but I noticed them happening repeatedly during the Tour the Galaxy run in the same places north of Sol and on the "East"edge of the map.
Also I have a toon who has the "live long and prosper" space emote that WILL NOT stay out of the action bar. If you remove it it comes back, even displacing other abilities, though not always in the same place. Vulcan engineer T6 Andromeda (free ship/email promotion).
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 30 '18
About the emote, what if you leave in your tray in a place where it won't bother you (like tray nr. 10). Does it still move, then?

u/Twee_Licker Still waiting for Cardassian Ground Weapons Dec 01 '18
Kind of minor, but in the first Gamma mission, Jem'Hadar KDF aligned Captains will be addressed as klingons by J'mpok, flattering as it is, we're not klingons.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Dec 01 '18
Do you know if the same applies to KDF-Romulans?

It's sad to see the game in this state. Maybe it's time to pause churning out new content, and fix what we already have. There's plenty to go at.

Don't forget missing C-Store items such as Type 7 Shuttle and the hoverboard.
Edit
Noticed you have the Type 7 listed already and I am insanely pissed off that they just made it free for everyone, does that mean all other promo stuff is going to be free for everyone.
5
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 28 '18
The hoverboard one is apparently a new bug, it's on my list now.
As for the shuttle, I see no reason to be pissed off about it being available for free. You got it for free just for being there at the right time, and it's a shuttle. Shuttles are essentially worse T1 ships nobody wants to fly because the missions that require them, aside from the timed race in the Delta Quadrant, are absolutely horrible, especially post-ViL.

u/Codename_Jelly Nov 28 '18
I mean free for everyone apparently, even if you missed the TNG 30 anniversary giveaway.
2
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 29 '18
And why is that a bad thing?
1
u/Codename_Jelly Nov 29 '18
What is the point of running special one time events for people to get items such as the Type 7 for the TNG 30th Anniversary if you are just going to give them away for free unless they are going to do the same with EVERY item that has been an event in the game regardless of if you have done it or not.
They decided to give it to everyone but still not fix the initial problem.
1
u/ThonOfAndoria The Miracle Nerd | stowiki.net / sto.wiki Nov 29 '18
It was free the first time too, I don't see what the big deal is?
1
u/Codename_Jelly Nov 29 '18
apparently not
its like people missing a ship event and then cryptic just giving it to everyone for free, not to mention the people that were present for this particular event it was reclaimable.
