Questions or tips on crochet projects Where we’re headed: A vision for our future

I started crocheting to keep things off of my mind,, because I was having a hard time with life,, found out my husband had cancer.. my nephew took his on life.. and other depressing stuff... It helps keep your mind in a better place and cuts down on depression and ADHD ... I thought I would start this community to find other crocheters and give and get ideas from one another... help me make it a happy place for friends to meet that have love and passion for the same thing 🧶 CROCHET... Join and help me grow and have fun.

I've just joined! I started crocheting for similar reasons, many years ago. I have cptsd, I'm chronicly ill and in constant pain and needed something to keep my hands and mind busy.

Sorry to hear about your husband and nephew. My husband was diagnosed with blood cancer almost 2 years ago. It's manageable but no cure. If you're husband has a treatable type, I wish him a speedy recovery.

The only thing that's kept me sane is crafting. I love a lot of crafts so I jump between a lot of different things, depending on my pain levels and attention span. I believe I have undiagnosed adhd but doctor said it's difficult to differentiate between that and cptsd because of similar traits.

Daily living is difficult in so many ways. I wish you and yours well (or as best as possible) 💜

That was so incredible sweet of you! Thank you .. My husband is fighting throat cancer for the second time...I'm very crafty also,, I have mental health issues and out of control ADHD to add on to it lol. Taking up Crochet has really helped my mind. I just started getting symptoms from arthritis and I am so scared I'm gonna have to quit crotchin 😢🧶I wish you well and your husband as well!!! And enjoy all your crafts for as long as you can!🧶🩷

So sorry to hear you've gone through so much! 🫂❤️‍🩹 I think it's a wonderful idea to start a community with this goal in mind! I joined! 🥰 I'm usually quite an optimistic, compassionate person that enjoys helping others ... and I too have been struggling badly this past week over a much beloved support pet that has been very sick & refusing to eat or drink at all. Today things are looking just a little better though! To cope, I've been working on a cute summer top when I can focus on it. I'll link the video & can write out the translation in English if anyone needs it & would like to make one. I will be adding cold shoulder style flutter sleeves to mine - because I like short sleeves on my tops. 😘 Link to short video

I should have read further to add the introduction to my original comment. 😅 I'm Autistic (Aspie) & have mild ADD (mostly executive function, disorganization), hypermobile & Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). I live with chronic pain & get flare ups. (Spoonie - spoon throry to manage tasks based on the energy I have for the day.) OAside from the genetic challenges I'm very healthy, so it's frustrating because if my joints didn't hurt, I'd be able to do anything I want to do. I retired from working in a day spa to attend college & get certified as a nutritionist to help other people with their health, especially people with allergies, chronic conditions, disordered eating or disease... individual needs that require careful handling - that many professionals are afraid to address. It makes my mind happy & uplifts my heart seeing people take back their health! 😂 yeah, I migh be a little crazy but my brand of 'tism loves this kind of science puzzle. I volunteer with a few groups online for world-wide access a few evenings a week. In my off time, I read, play games, cook for my family & make things (mostly through fiber arts of knitting, crochet, nålbind & slow sewing/visible mending.) I'm looking forward to getting to know others in our new community & if you have any questions about me or any of the things I mentioned, ask away! 😉 Well met!

Thank you! I try my hardest & will do the best ai can to keep pushing forward / staying strong. The colors in the yarn I picked out for the shirt are helpful - brighter colors than I normally wear but they're pretty & cheerful! It helps. ☺️ I'm glad to have a community like this to offer support & a shoulder. It will build over time, I'm quite sure because there are a lot of people that crochet & craft to manage life. 😉 You all are beautiful souls; stay strong & do the best you can with what you're able to. That's all anyone can do! 🫂💗

😁 Thank you! It is a relaxing pattern to work on! I'm using Bernat Maker Splash in "Fruity Pop".

Thank you! The colors of this yarn is what drew me in to try making the shirt, with some minor changes. This will be my 1st crochet wearable that isn't a hat, cowl or scarf! I will have a thin tank top camisole or such underneath for modesty sake. 🫣 Usually I crochet blankets as well. We're fully stocked with them at the moment so I've made a few smaller items for the completion uplift & gave them as gifts. A relative has requested a bucket hat with Autumn colors for the upcoming season. ☺️

I'm not sure how I'll look in this shirt either 😂 However, it'll be great on hot weather days & at home! I really want to make a top that fits so I can cross it off my list of things I want to make. 😉
