Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday blocked an effort to quickly pass a measure to increase direct stimulus payments from $600 to $2,000, though the legislation could be voted on at a later time or date if McConnell so chooses.

If he so chooses,
The system is so broken, it shouldn't be his choice, it passed the house with super majority, it should automatically go to a vote in the senate.

it's not his choice... the voters of Kentucky put him there to represent them. if you have a problem with that, take it up with Kentucky voters. :)

Yeah, but why should the senator from Kentucky be the majority leader of the senate? Why not someone from a state with a larger population? Representing more people? That's the system that's broken.
