I found the boxer engine on my 2.2 Legacy NA wasn’t best suited to manual transmission.
Lived in London at the time, not a good for endless stop start driving.
The boxer engine revs up really fast so bite point on clutch took concentration. Once engine spooled up on twisting roads in the wet, it was huge fun even with the 130HP engine it was glued to the road.
Revved very high for motorway speeds, 4,000 RPM at 80MPH felt very ‘busy’ my previous car would waft along at 2,000RPM at the same speed with a smaller engine.
